Any word if it has adaptive suspension ? I will look to get one once the initial hype and mark ups go away.

good base spec car to replace existing m2, but you can tell they've left room for an m2 gts - low spec s55, no cf roof, no comp seats, no M hood etc

Word is business case does not stack up for GTS version. Future corporate direction & focus is hybrid / electric powered……time will tell

that's a shame, and given the next gen 1/2 is going to a fwd chassis, the F87 is really only opportunity to do a GTS

i guess they neutered the M2 S55 to protect M3/4 sales then and/or to limit production costs

would've been awesome if they put in the carbon structure cloth instead for the base model

I am hoping they will bring out the 4 door M2 / Gran Coupe CPT.

Could be a good alternative to M3 for those who need 4 doors.

I think maybe the shorter wheel base of the M2 but similar track may make this car better than the M3 for tight/sharp cornering on winding roads and switch backs. Whereas M3 is probably still better for sweeping corners.

Dakota aint that bad, I had it before and while nowhere near as thick or supple as merino its fairly bullet proof.
Even spilt protein shake (the worst) cleaning was not a issue.
Only thing i would like atleast as a option is adaptive damping as it will take dd duties from m3.

Dakota has all the suppleness of a set of elephant testicles

It's bullet proof because it is so heavily processed to point of being the leather equivalent of meat in a Bunnings sausage

I must say I've never felt elephant testicles.

Unfortunately all early reports indicate no adaptive suspension.

looks more appealing than i initially thought it would following that leak

the new silver looks great, reminds me of suzuka grey from audi

i even don't mind the lack of tech and features vs f80 if it means it's going to be a more fun car - i'd put a half cage in it and build my own gts

where i hit a road block though is going from an f80 comp to f87 comp. sure the chassis and smaller size will make it more fun on a back road, but imo the chassis isn't what's lacking in the f80 comp. what is lacking is any kind of character and ball tingling engine noise from the s55 that gets me out of the house on a school night for a hill run.... so after the new car novelty wears off, i think i'll be having same issue i have now with the f80 comp

coming out of an rs3 and that glorious characterful 5 cylinder has really screwed me up in terms of being content with the f80

I agree, i'm liking the subtle changes a lot but my current M2 with the N55 combined with a Remus system sounds incredible, how a car sounds plays a big part in the driving experience for me, saying that i don't overly dislike the sound of the S55 and will be keen to hear how this M2 sounds and if they've tweaked the sound at all over the current M3/M4 Comp.
