Buying AUC M3???

Hi all,

I've recently put a deposit down on a F33 440i, which is to be delivered next month.

But I'm thinking of sacking it off (although will lose £1k deposit) and getting a post summer 2015 LCI update M3. (I had a e46 M3 some years ago and there's still something iconic about them for me).

I can see some manual LCI cars are now hitting £43k with less than 10k - even some with 5k miles - which is what I'm paying for the 440.

Should I wait for March in the basis they'll be a lot more AUC stock when cars come back in off lease or for p/x and prices may fall further?

And the Select finance rate for an AUC car is 10.9%. That's cleary mad given where base rates are, so what figures are you negotiating on APR for AUC M cars?

Cheers!

Elms offered me 7% but that was the best they could offer. But I had already sorted the finance through Halifax pcp at 4.4% so depending who you bank with would be worth a look.

Do not lose your £1k deposit. Get it back. I put £2k deposit on a new car, it was built and I backed out but still got deposit back. These are car dealers, they can sell any car unless it is a ridiculous custom build.

Re rate, you can get as low as 5.9% but the dealer would have to pay subsidy to BMW Finance so all depends on how the car is priced and what room there is for dealer to discount by paying a subsidy.

Just finance via a personal loan. Rates will be far cheaper!!

All depends what you're after. If it's PCP and you want low monthly payments, BMW Finance will have the best GFV/Balloon. Cheapest overall is of course cash or a remortgage.

Depending on the car it can be as low as 0% on the M5 for example last year, typically it's 4-5% on the new car using BMWFS in my experience but their used car finance isn't great.

Bank loans depends on the amount but start from around 4% and go up from there, those are APR not flat rates.

My 440i is on 2.9%. Guess my point is that with an APR rate of 10.9% on AUC it's like they're trying NOT to sell you an AUC car!!

PCP suits me better than loan - prefer to keep monthlies low and chuck some money in now and again as I get bonuses for being a good boy.

Anyhow, I will wait for March and see if prices drop.

Well, put my deposit down on a Silverstone II car yesterday - got the APR down to 6% and did a deal I'm happy with! So I'm back in the M3 club!

Was that a used car? if so that's pretty good by BMW standards.

Silverstone is a great colour I had a e92 M3 with it, looks gorgeous in real life and really flatters/shows off the lines of the car and changes colour/hue depending on the light conditions.

I think it would look great the a CP black gloss bits on as well. (grilles/side gills/badge and exhaust trims)

Congrats.
