I'm on that ship too! I just found a cell app that tracks the ship in real-time but when you use the same app on the PC it shows that it is still just leaving the English channel. Wired or what?

Well, mine must be there too - I was on the boat that landed the week following you. I'm hearing mid-August delivery from my SA, so perhaps the previous poster was right, they're batching deliveries up.

Gotta love it - takes the Germans 4 weeks to build the car, get it to port and then ship it to Canada. Takes us 6 weeks just to freight it across the country.

Fully loaded, mineral white with orange interior, dct, ccbs, literally everything but the smokers package(2.5 years smoke free and counting) and the rear sunshade.

They knew I have a wedding in Montreal and the end of the month, and was promised the car mid July, and now that CN is taking so long, I told them to either pay for my flight to Montreal, or hurry up with bringing my M4 to toronto.

I didn't want them to call that bluff, I hate flying. I just really want my car. It's been a long 8 months since I put my deposit down. I had a May built day and it's taking forever to get here.

However, my SA is awesome. He told me it's costing the dealership a extra 500$ to truck in my truck(double price of a flight to mtl)

So here's a "conspiracy theory" for your enjoyment .

I was wondering about a few things:
1) why is my SA continuing to indicate Aug 14 delivery when the car landed in Canada July 8th and CN schedules say it takes about 2 weeks to ship across Canada. That's a big gap with no explanation.

2) Why aren't we hearing more "got mine" posts about non-launch/dealer M deliveries across Canada? By now there should be quite a few but the forum is silent. There are only a few cases of custom M deliveries that I know of: in Halifax where you can just pick up from the dock and in Toronto (gthal) where he insisted that BMW truck it to TO

3) Why could a 435 get delivered (recently) from Halifax to TO about a week after landing in port, yet gthal didn't get his M ?

So the theory is this: BMW CA is holding the M deliveries until the Canadian ED folks cars arrive (in Halifax on the 21st I believe), and then shipping all custom M's and the ED cars more or less at once across Canada.

That would explain the timing I'm hearing well: starting on the 21st, 3 weeks to ship, PDI and deliver

So there you go. Any takers on the conjecture?

To add to this my SA says "CN has a shortage of rail cars". I do agree with your points because we haven't heard much about Canadian M deliveries. The people that did get their cars seem to be on the east. How much of an affect does the flooding in MB delay delivery should also be considered.

I'm just upset that my dealer has absolutely no information about the car once i arrived in Halifax. My SA told me that the ETA still shows July 27 but at this point who knows. I was hoping to get it by month end so I can enjoy it on the August long weekend. This may not happen now.

That is a good "conspiracy theory" but when in Europe on the tour BMW AG told us that Canadians are 2nd in buying the most "M" cars world wide and Dubai is number one, then the US is 3rd or 4th, so it would explain the reason why Dubai would get the M4 first and Canadians would get to go on a Euro trip on them.

So I can't really see why BMW Canada would delay "Custom Ms" that would hurt future sales because once people start using there products that's like free advertisement, like what happened on our euro trip, people taking pics and videos of us all the time.

But anything is possible!

I don't think that makes sense (number of cars). I've seen stats that showed WAY more E92 M3s being sold into the US than any other market. Just look at the number of US members here vs. Canada. Anyway, although I believe what you were told isn't correct, I don't have the data to support it either.

Quote:
Once again, the USA, accounting for 10 663 units delivered to customers, was the most significant individual market.

I just know what they told us and the reasons they do things like our euro trip.

Understood... I just edited my post... see my link above. Sales in the US are by far larger than Canada. The BMW guy was wrong, unfortunately. It wouldn't make sense that a market that is over 10 times larger than Canada wouldn't have more M car sales... especially given the better climate that is more suitable too

No numbers for Canada or Dubai, so I don't think they would tell us false information.
