Just collected my new M4 Cp

Well just flown up from Southampton to Scotland to collect my new car.
Had a great steady drive home and managed 32 mpg and 355 from a full tank. Not that I will ever see these figures again. Still very impressed after coming out of an F10 M5
Just need to sort out an exhaust, spacers and suspension but I think I may have to wait a little while or me and e good lady may fall out.
What do you think?

Looks very good to me - congrats!

Tell us more about the M5 comparison, which was on my short list last time around? Why are you impressed with the M4?

What's your plan for the suspension??

The M5 was probably one of the best cars I will ever have owned as it feels brutally fast yet so refined in its delivery. I did fit the Akraprovic system also as felt it lacked in that department. Having had E92 M3,s and Z4MC,s etc I think I preference the more go cart feel of a car and although I have not pushed the M4 as still running in it just feels more in tune to what I have grown to enjoy, smaller and more agile although only time will tell I guess.
Also as its not my everyday car I felt I wanted a non 4 door car as felt more of an occasion if that makes sence. The M5 as an only car is hands down very hard to beat in every way. I had the previously V10 and the running costs were super car money but the F10 is no different to an M3/4.
On the suspension front I am undecided as I have Nitron on my E36 and had it on my E92 and the quality is hard to beat and it doesn't ruin the day to day driving experience , however you pay for it. Tempted just to go for springs currently, would very much like to meet and see yours in the flesh as you are Hampshire based aren't you? Always used Eibach but not sure on the M4 as yet?
Was going to get a MP exhaust but heard a few comments on them breaking and making strange miscues so a little undecided also. Akra would be my first choice as the M5 system was stunning in both sound and quality but for £7k I would hope so.

I'm at the other end of the M3 but happy to meet up some time. I thought long and hard about Eibachs this time and I've has ACS before but in the end decided to stay as close to OEM as possible.

Anyway, does the E36 get out much? Another lovely car!

Not very often if honest but I hope it will next year. Very nicely set up car for track use and although not the fastest car it's defiantly one to put a huge grin on your face

Mark, did you go via a local BMW dealer for install etc.
If so would you recommend anybody who does a good deal?

I asked for 3 quotes; my local dealer started £600 more that what I paid Cotswold BMW Cheltenham in the end - so I'd recommend them 100%.

I plan to have the car corner balanced and properly aligned at Center Gravity when I an find the time. Center Gravity quoted the same price as Cotswold to fit (slightly higher parts cost with cheaper labour) but I decided the franchise option gives full 2 year warranty on the whole setup.

I came out of an F10 M5 into the M3, it's swings and roundabouts in that what you lose in sheer grunt and interior quality you gain in terms of handling and eagerness at more sensible speeds.

Enjoy....

Garage List
Lovely cars you have there.

What made you travel to Scotland for the car? Curious which dealer you used also.

I got a great deal on a F10 M5 a few years ago from Eastern BMW and I contacted him recently and he did a deal that my local dealer couldn't touch.
And if honest the drive home is a great way to bed the car in without loads of stops etc . It was 430 from door to door and sat at 80 ish all the way.
Would defiantly recommend them as a dealership 👍

I seemed to always run out of road with the M5! Haha!

The M3's agility has been alot more fun on the usual roads and streets i drive in!

Exactly what I found with the M5 on my extended test drive, not enough road.

That, and the fact it seems to steer itself with the rear wheels

It's an amazing ar isn't it. Would be keen to drive the new one but way to much money and probably no deals on for a while?

I defiantly agree with you there. Be a great car as the F10 is not an easy car to drive on the limit in the dry yet alone in our standard weather conditions.
