Please post an entire thread about it, and LOTS of pics. The forum will thank you as there is a lot of mystique surrounding Speed Cloth.

I prefer the cloth, I wish was available with full leather dash though, but its still my first choice.

YES!

Although I did not get cloth since I needed HUD more I'm still excited to see and hear owner thoughts.

Well you technically could've still opted for cloth in spite of the Exec package.

Yes, I'm sure that's the intent since they named the material "Carbonstructure".

I have to decide whether or not I'm pulling the trigger on exec package within the next few weeks here. Just can't see not having Hud, but would be perfectly happy with cloth.

I'm not 100% sure I'm correctly interpreting the OP's comment, but the second guy's is very clear.

In any case, to you both and anyone else considering cloth, be aware that you can absolutely combine CSAT with ZEC. It says so right in the pricing guide.

Edit: sorry SC, I missed your post. So consider it seconded.

That would look nice, agree.

I wish I could delete the contrast stitching, myself. I want the lowest maintenance possible, and I think the stitching is going to require extra care if one doesn't want it to end up looking brownish.

I'm definitely going to replace the leather door pulls (as well as the CF trim on the dash and center console) with the M Performance matte CF trim pieces. So that will get rid of some of it, but it will still be there on the seats. Oh well.

I have found that a toothbrush and a lil warm water mixed with dish soap does wonders for the stitching. A lil Oxi-Clean helps too. That is how I kept the Palladium Silver stitching in my E9X's clean.

I'm thinking more along the lines of some treatment with a fine tip black permanent marker.

I have to admit though, my PS interior doesn't look too terrible given just how rarely I give it a cleaning. Of course, there's no contrast between the stitching and the leather so it's probably all just equally discolored.

Lol! I used to use my passenger seat as a comparison. The minute my driver's seat was discolored relative to my generally unused passenger seat, away I went scrubbing to get the hue back.

I prefer PS to the SSII interior. I want to spec SSII, but that will be a bitch & a half to keep clean. I'm still debating, and I have time to switch to black.

Yeah it does. I mean if you're opting for CF roof and trim, as all but a very few people will, then this just extends that look and makes for a more cohesive total package to my eye.

Sure does...so far the "real life" pictures (recognizing there are only a few of them so far) have not impressed me as much, but I love how the speed cloth looks in that BMW press picture.

So can anyone guestimate how much weight will the SC save over leather?
I can't see it being very significant..

Yeah no one has claimed that would be a significant number since post 2. I think we're all in agreement.

This is the only way i'd order an F8x, as a complete stripper, just the lighting pkg as an add on..
Loved the speedcloth in the e46's and e92's.

You'll gain 1/10th of a second at the Nurburgring.

Recently I started going back and forth over my decision to go with cloth. People got me thinking about resale, blah blah blah.

But as today dawned I realized it remains the best choice for the following reasons:

1. I've seen a few washed out pics where it didn't look good, but that's just an artifact of washed out photos. While the BMW press release's lighting is perfect for it, I've seen enough real world not-washed-out pics that make it look great.

2. Leather is going to be by far the most common, whereas cloth is going to be a rarer interior

3. It's going to hold up better

4. It's something unique to the M3. You can't get it on the regular F30 (In the U.S.), you can't get a cloth/leather combo on it's competitors (again to my knowledge).

5. It fits my more stripper build. If I'm selling this vehicle one day myself, it's most likely going to be an enthusiast who is going to be looking for a manual trans and fewer options. I think the cloth interior is going to fit that mindset better.

...

Cloth, full steam ahead!

Only sure is, that you can delete the weight of the heated seats !

The only bad detail on the Speed Cloth seats for me is, that the front of the headrest is not made of leather ... would look much better !

Well, you still get heated front seats but if you opt for the executive package you lose the heated rear seats. Not sure if any of us going cloth or thinking about going cloth are checking that box. I also wish the headrest was leather as I like the look of it on the leather seats. I just look forward to seeing more pics.

You can do anything you want, just have to pay for it

You will maintain FRONT heated seats with cloth. You DO NOT lose front heated seats with cloth.

The weight difference is probably 5-7 pounds max. Cloth is lighter than leather, but you are only talking about the center and backs of the front and rear seats. Probably 5-7 pounds of difference with leather there.

Probably about the weight of the PDC & rear view camera computers alone

I wish that the headrest was made of leather because my damn squash is so oily. if the cloth looks anything like my pillows, resale value will be zero.
