I share your sentiments, and that's the main reason I'm thinking about the next C63. Say what you want about AMG, but at the very least, they make sure their stock exhaust sounds awesome.

Heard it first hand at Bimmerfest. Hopefully (like pray to God) the production system is the same as this.

That makes a HUGE difference. The MPE would be part of my order if I was getting an M3/M4.

It really is sad that they do this. Those last two clips sound great. I feel like that's what the car sounded like when they first built it then said let's make the exhaust sound like crap to charge for extra for the real sound :/. Kind of annoying and I hate to say it but they've got my money. That's the best exhaust note hands down.

Absolutely agree with you guys here.....absolutely ridiculous that BMW charges 62-76k for this M and the perf exhaust doesn't come with it. Makes no sense.

Perf exhaust sounds great on it, but still not good enough to overlook the terrible lines on the car. The m3 is growing on me. 4 just doesn't do it.

It's not even that much for a 3/435 MPE. Most people are paying around $1000-1200. I found mine for $900.

Yeah no way it should cost that much, I don't care that it's an M tax thing...ridiculous.

Great idea, and BMW could shave some cost off of the MPE in exchange of not having to bolt on a stock exhaust.

I noticed that since day 1. Videos don't do justice to the F8X. Live always sounds better!

It is possible cabin noise in the stock setup is significantly quieter and that BMW is aiming to satisfy luxury oriented customers first in the sound department. And so, the performance exhaust is for the smaller group, or enthusiast clan, who want a loud car.

The markup makes no sense. 4, 5 or 7 k are too much for pipes, welds and cans.

But business is business... I imagine.

This exhaust sounds sick. I really wish BMW made this standard from the factory. I would be very impressed if it was truly a titanium full system. I may have to sell my Akra soon.

Offizial Price for the mpe in Germany is 4100€!!!
Akropovic You can get starting 2700€...
Hmm so installed with taxes here in US should be about $6400 or so. Not that far off from rough price given 2 months ago. Guess I will be going to good old Delaware BMW dealer for no sales tax shopping.

It's probably just the recording cause it sounds pretty sweet in the second one.

I will keep my stock exhaust. The MPE sounds good, but so does the original in my opinion.
