The new interior is overall definitely nicer, but it's a mixed bag. I like how they eliminated all the wasted space around the controls, the location of the knob is more convenient, and the new materials are top notch. I really like the new steering wheel, too. I like the E9X door compartments (seriously hate the new pedestrian-looking doors) and cupholders (gasp!) more, and I prefer the double hump to the iPad (less glare, less obtrusive, handy shelf for glasses), but otherwise the new interior is far more dynamic. The E9X was too bland inside for all black (hence my fox red), the new one looks good in black. I may ED an F80 around LCI/ZCP time if reviews not only dispel my misgivings about the engine and EPS, but utterly demolish them. I'm not overly concerned with cylinder count (although 8 sounds objectively better than 6, I don't care what anyone says), and maybe I'm just a size queen, but it would be hard to go to a smaller engine than my folks' old Acura, regardless of how juiced up it is. Even the 4L of the S65 was too smallish for my tastes (we should have had the GTS 4.4, and the GTS should have just had the S85), but the overall package won me over. History may well repeat itself. I also need to wait and see what kind of aftermarket cosmetic stuff shows up for the car. I am not fond of either the front or rear direct views. The Msport front bumper looks better to me than the F8X, so it definitely needs a nice aggressive lip to stretch out that blunt, squished nose (damn regulations! DAMN YOU OBAMAAA!!!!). The rear bumper will need a nice big diffuser to accent the otherwise boring exhaust (but hey, way better than the E9X giant metal nutsack you got stock or with MPE) and hide all that unnecessary shit on the bottom corners. |

Nice, I have never seen any prototypes in my neck of the woods. But we also have less traffic here than Bavaria.

Well... you have to live in a an area(or near) where one of BMW's factories are located: since the test cars are limited to where they can refuel.

I'm not a fan of front of the F30 at all. Worst aesthetics part of the car. The F80 looks a bit better as do the F32. The big upright grill on the F30 is a bit sleeker on the F80 and F32. A grill btw that to me looks worse in all black on the light colored cars. Way to big, brash and harsh. Best look to me is a black F32 M-Sport with black grill. It minimizes the issue and make for a more balanced mean look. I need to see the car in real life but I will likely order a black F80 with black grill to get this effect if I don't like the front of the F80 enough.

do not like the M3 at all especially in SO. I love the SO on the M6, I don't need the black grills/tires. Its classy with the lighter color wheels and grills. I saw the black wheels in person and the don't look as cheap as the ones in this pic, but the silver are much cleaner looking

Looks ridiculous in my opinion... The grill is the only chrome on the car.. That is an appearance choice only a non attentive person would make. In addition, I agree, the black wheels look bad with the SO; something I suspected all along.
Finally, I have no idea what is going on with the aperture of the camera taking this photo, but the M3 proportions look FAR worse in these pictures than they did in the autoshow pix. The autoshow pix make me want to change my M4 order for an M3, but these pictures seem to show the M3 as ridiculously long and completely incorrect in its proportions... which then begs the question is the color hue correct.... |
