Do any of you M3/M4 owners daily drive an F30/F32?
I am currently in the market for a new performance car. I am thinking about a F82, but want to keep my F30 335i FBO as a daily driver. Does anyone have this combo or close to something like this? Im afraid I might get bored of the M4 after a while. I understand the M4 is a completely different car but it's still a BMW. I'm thinking about a c63s coupe also. What are your thoughts ?

Assuming you don't need 4 doors, I would sell the F30 once you get the F82 (and DD the F82).
If you need 4 doors, I would either (i) keep the F30 and get the C63S coupe (or some other coupe); or (ii) get the F82 and replace the F30 with some other sedan. Edit: Having both an F30 and F82 doesn't make sense to me - one bimmer too many. Are you leasing or buying the F82? Is the F30 a lease? Last edited by JibSTir13; 04-02-2018 at 05:54 PM.. |

I've got my f80 5 months before my lease on f30 expired. Daily drove f30 and babied f80. There is no resemblance in driving experience imho.

Dailying an F82 is no problem at all, even in a snowy area. Just get snow tires for the winter, if that applies to you.
If transporting children is a concern, I have two car seats in the back on my M4 and regularly drive two kids around (I pick mine up 1-2 per week) Not really sure why you would want to daily a F3x if you have an F8x at home as well.

You are right on 'one bummer too many' that is my main concern. I do like the C63s coupe but i really don't like the looks of it, but it's a different brand. [ |

I used to.
Had a 2015 F30 328i but sold it a few months back. I still kind of regret it but it was necessary at the time. At the time I had a F82 M4 w/ my F30 328i. It was fine considering I'm a bit overly anal about the places I drive to in my M4. I got tired of the 2 doors however. It was a bit of a nuance considering how wide the door swings open on the Coupes so.

I have the exact combo, but 335i x drive M sport. Hate driving the F30 if I ever have to. I just daily the F80 now(even in Minnesota winter). Thought I would drive the F30 more initially when I got the F80, but I am getting rid of the F30.

I have owned F30 340i for 2 years, there is no competition between F30 and F80/F82/F83. M cars are in different league. No comparison.

Since you need 4 doors and are keeping the F32, I would consider other coupes to lease. How about an F-Type? Or a Cayman? There are so many coupe options besides the F82. |

I'm going to be a dissenting voice and say you should keep your f30 to day and then get a 2 seats pure sports car as your toy instead of an f82
Loved my f80 but it's best as a single all in one car, not as a toy |

another option is to wait until the G series Yes, but there's not much im interested in for a pure sports care around this price range other than the GTR... |

My wife has a 2013 335i that was actually mine until I got my M4. I NEVER got bored of my 335i. I loved that car for 5 years and took great care of it. Now that I have an M4, I don't even look at the 335i anymore. Lol... I went to my sister's house for lunch this weekend. She is only 12 miles away. Guess which car I drove? The M4!! I daily drive it and love every sec I'm in it. |

I had an M4 DCT as my daily (dedicated snow tires is key). I have two minions too. One uses a booster and the other is a front facing seat. So the back seats fit them just fine. I now have an F80 M3 and the extra doors are a nice change but I went with a 6spd. No ragrets (not even 1 letter). My wife drives a new 320 xdrive. Seems a little over kill with two 3 series but they serve their own purpose. Her 3 is great on gas and is the road trip machine. We may get her into a 5 series in a couple years, especially as the kids stretch out more. The C63S sounds insane and has a neat interior (GTS seat option).

The whole point behind the M3/4 is to make trackable daily drivers. Get rid of your F30.

Keep your F30 and get a Porsche 911 or Cayman S OR sell the F80 and daily your sports car. Life is too short to drive boring cars. |

FBO M4s are putting down north of 600 at the wheels. I'm not sure how that's going to feel boring. |

I daily my F80. I've been in some serious snow storms, but my performance-oriented Blizzaks handled the snow without issue. I drive with Traction Control on full and still have no issue. Sometimes I need to kick on the MDM, but other than that I'm good. Note, I didn't get the Comp Pack. I feel like if you daily, get the 18s.
Anyway, the point I'm making is that I'd recommend getting an F80 for daily duties -- you'll enjoy driving much more. Plus, you have a competent car for those moments when you feel like opening it up. Then, on the weekends, you can have your convertible 911. |

If you don't want anything other than a gtr, get the gtr... easy I personally think consolidating to m3/m4 is better than FBO 335 + M4. I too had an f30 335 (wife's daily) and was happy to see it go. There was no situation where I was in the m3 saying "I wish I was in the 335 instead" |

I had a 13 328 before getting my 16 M3. They are night and day difference. Get an M3 or M4 and you won't be disappointed. They both make excellent daily drivers.
