need more grip

the nice weather in the GTA has me thinking about my M4 - my stock MPSS 19" summers were almost gone when i took them off the car to put winters on.

I would like to replace my summers but also try to get better traction when accelerating out of tight corners.

Read a bunch of threads over at tire section of the forum - it seems 285/265 RE-71R would provide better grip and they seem to be a good price at costco

what have Canadian members here opted for when staying with stock 437 rims?

so, with those proposed tires, you may end up buying 2 new sets for the coming summer ... as long you are okay with it.

you could consider the Michelin PS 4S

And here is that thread: http://f80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho....php?t=1089535

That would be my choice for overall day to day extreme performance tires, balanced on all fronts!

RE-71R are great tires and they hook up! My best 60ft with them was 1.758 and that led to my best 1/4 mile time of 11.47 with just the tires, JB4 and Remus cat back.

I'm just hoping Costco will start stocking the 305's soon.

would the same sizes 295/35 19s from M5 still work with the upcoming PS4S tires?

I did a fair bit of research to find a better tire combination for my M4. Since I track my car a fair bit, I have dedicated set of track tires and wheels, so I was looking for a tire that would serve DD summer duty and wet track duty. Since I had excellent experiences with the PSS I decided to stick with that type of tire. After lengthy research, I finally settled on the 265/35R19(M0) from the AMG GT-S for the front and the 295/35R19(*) from the M5 for the rear. I am really liking this combo and many folks on the forum have followed suit. See my thread for more details: http://f80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho....php?t=1089535

If you are looking for an even grippier tire, the RE71R, RE11 AD08R (extreme performance category) are all very good options. But they come with the compromise of lower wet capability, faster wear and increased NVH.

It is listed in their computer. So there shouldn't be any issue ordering them. ✔️✔️~$875 all in for two in BC

Tons of auto x, aggressive street driving and the odd burn out

If you didn't do two of the three, they'd last longer. But that's no fun. And the price point from Costco is even more reason to do all three

+1. This car needs 100 treadwear tires to be enjoyed fully. Add a tune and it becomes even more important. Expensive, but pretty much the nature of RWD and the torque this motor spits out.
