While I'm generally a fan of spokes that extend out to the tire sidewalls, the classic deep dish style looks great on M cars. The fender flares balance out the sallow sunk in look these wheels create.
IMO LM's make a non-M E92's look like stick insect because it's such a long, skinny car.

I'm going to jump on this 20" vs 19" thing because I can't resist.... For those of you who say 20's aren't too big and look best, etc... I have to agree that the car LOOKS good with 20's. The problem is that BMW didn't spec an overall tire diameter that supports 20" wheels. In other words, when you put 20's on this car you have very limited tire size options and very short side-wall heights (have to decrease tire sidewall height when you increase wheel diameter). The performance of a 255/30/20 tire sucks when compared to a 255/35/20 tire. 20's on a GTR or Porsche 991 work well because they have sidewall heights that aren't overly thin.... GTR's front tire size is 255/40/20... Guess what? That's the M3's 18" tire size spec (255/40/18). Porsche 991 OEM tire size is 245/35/20, which compares almost exactly to the M3 OEM 19" tire size (255/35/19). There is a reason for that. Once you get to a 30 series height on a 255 or less the performance deteriorates. A 275/30 is the thinnest sidewall height I would run if you actually care about performance (a 275/30 sidewall height is equivalent to a 245/35 sidewall). In summary 20's may look cool (if you are into that over-sized wheel look) but are a compromise in every way on an M3 (performance, tire size options, tire performance level options, cost, ride quality).
