M3 at Buttonwillow Raceway

BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com
Friend took his F80 M3 to buttonwillow with us.
Did a 2:03:4 Car is 100% stock. Never even adjusted the tire pressure which got way too high. Pretty good time for stock and it was 90 + degrees out.
And there was a passenger.

Also crazy how fast it is...down the straight it pulled so far away from my e46 m3 it was retarded. I was dumbfounded.

Here it pulls away after turn 2

I suppose your friend was chomping on the cigar while on the track. Have to live up to stereotypes, you know.

Cheers.

I didn't drive it, hard for me to give feedback. He did say the started fading but any brake will fade without a track pad on. No street pad can handle a track.

That is a great, great time for a new car showroom stock lapping buttonwillow.

For comparison, an ESS supercharged e46 m3 specifically prepped for this track and a time-attack lap did a 1:53:48.

Really impressed by a 2:03 on street tires, street brakes, and factory suspension/alignment settings here.

Billy, You know my friend Cody.he ran 1:51 in his e92 at bw and just won GTA in his vette with a 1:27 at road Atlanta I believe. We didn't even touch the tire pressures. They were close to 50 when he pulled off and it was 90-100 yesterday and tony was in the car with him

You guys do realize the driver is more importanta than the car right?
Having said that, having other cars he's driven is usefuly info.

This made me chuckle. Thanks!

I love riding Buttonwillow configurations. It's a bit bumpy in certain areas; Star Mazda is a wonderfully long sweeper. It's great on a bike. That is all.

Ok, so he's pretty good. Would you venture to say with proper pressures and a cooler day it's close to a 2:00-2:01 car bone stock? That would be pretty impressive.

Those were the words that came out of my mouth right after.
A nice cool day, correct tire pressures there's definite a couple seconds. Add an alignment and you're probably golden. Hell put on an rs3 tires and alignment and you're sub 2.
