At a loss... Stolen M4

Bit of a rough weekend...

I woke up on Friday morning to a turned over house and a missing M4 :'(

From viewing CCTV etc, four guys came through my back door at about 2am and turned my house upside down looking for the keys. Luckily they found the key downstairs and didn't come to find me

Car was recovered by 7:30am parked up about 2 miles from my house.

I'll be getting it back in the next few days, no doubt covered in fingerprint dust.

Aside from my keys they took my wallet with all my cash and cards oh and my driving license. and smashed my back door up but that can all be sorted.

Hacked off is an understatement, but I will not be beaten by these scrotes. CCTV is going up this week but there isn't much else I can do.

Sorry to hear that.
I had an E46 M3CSL stolen a few years ago and they got into the house while I was at work and found the spare key to the car which was parked on the drive and the key for the raised security post.
Had a tracker fitted so police were able to find the car parked up in a side street in Solihull about 15 miles away.
They'd ripped most internal panels to see if they could find any tracker but couldn't.
Got the car back a few weeks later covered in fingerprint dust. Bloody awful stuff to clean off especially when it's left for a bit.
Pure sumbags!!!

Man thats horrible to hear. Im going to start putting the alarm on before i go to bed!
Had extra locks put in adjoining doors for me if im out, cctv up, not sure what else can be done to deter these crooks.

Even have a disclock i never use!
Its happened to me before but i woke up and scared them off. Was after my S5. Police caught em as they got lost, they had thrown all gear out of window. Obviously out on bail and CPS said case not strong enough.
May give spare keys to my family to keep for me.

Sorry to hear. Glad you have it on cctv. Most importantly no harm done to you or anyone in the house. Hopefully the scum will be caught and not too much damage to the car

They really are fuckers zero respect and a waste of air, ten years hard labour is what they deserve.

I just wouldn't want the car back knowing the scumbags have touched it, if they come for mine they better not find it afterwards that would be a double insult.

That's really crap - sorry to read this, one of my worries.

Best of luck getting it sorted.

Thanks everybody!

I've just collected the car from the Police and unfortunately, the Polices opinion of it being 'ok' is far from my opinion.

The car is obviously without a set of keys but also has some accident damage to all sides. Albeit it light damage.

As a result, I think this is the end of my short ownership :'( I can quite frankly do without the stress and the 'What Ifs'...

So, what do I go to now? I'm thinking a nice sensible SUV tbh, nothing flash. I'm currently leaning towards a KIA Sportage (at least in the short term).

Sorry to here your problems, I have CCTV outside and car in a locked Garage. So fairly safe.
I looked at the top of the range Sportage, they have loads of kit and they drive well. Good luck with your choices.

I've actually had a change of heart.. I've been loaned an A3 diesel and while it is a very nice car, it was just no "fun". As such, I've opted to go back to Audi into a TT/S. Unfortunately there is nothing in the BMW range which is fun and quick that doesn't have an 'M' badge on it..

I will be back though, I just need to move into the middle of the Pennines first

Absolutely! I'm glad they found the keys downstairs, I don't fancy my chances against 4 blokes who want something that badly.

I thought I would reply on here too You seem to be keeping dafter hours than me looking at your time stamp!

I had an A4 3.0TDi with opt Sports Diff several years ago. Best sounding diesel I've ever owned (sounds better than the 3.0CDi Merc). Mind you I broke the diff after spending an afternoon hooning around in an empty Derby City FC car park in the snow. Fixed under warranty, but when I enquired to it's true cost, they said it would have cost just over £7,000 if I had paid for it!

I sold an A5 3.0 TDI to buy my M4, now THAT was the best sounding diesel I've ever heard.
