MIR Track Rental 10/28/16

Haven't been on the forum in a while and thought I'd let you guys know about a rental at MIR. I have reserved both lanes on Friday October 28th at MIR (southern Maryland). One lane will be for drag radial and slick cars only. Cost to race will be $100/car, $10/spectator (spectator fee will be returned as you leave the track as long as you keep your ticket) and the event is from 9AM-5PM. The track usually isn't ready to go until closer to 10AM. Who's in?

I went to last year's. It was an awesome time! So many nice cars and nicer people who are easy to talk to and get advice from. Hopefully, my 1,200-mile break-in period will be done by then. Here's to boost season!!!

No side by side grudge racing? Just times? Any helmet requirements?

I think they want to keep the lanes separate because of the track prep they perform and don't want it interfering with each other. So, if the buddy ur racing has different rubber than you, then ur good to go!

IIRC, you got a timeslip with all the standard metrics: R/T, 60ft, ET, trap, etc.

If you run anything faster than 14 seconds, dragstrips usually require a helmet. So.... you will need a helmet

I might be able to make it @noon. How long will we have the track? Are they open to the public for their usual Friday evening thing?

Can't figure out how to multi quote on my phone lol so...

Ptper- glad you had fun last time and hope you can make it again!

EALM4- you can grudge race as long as one or both of you have drag radials/slicks. You get a full 1/4 mile timeslip and helmets are required.

James- yes sir. Pay at gate

Cotmfk- nice!

Beamerandbimmer- we have track until 5pm. Yes there is a public event in the evening.

Great great great day for the track. Thanks for the invite and I had a awesome time (even though I had to bounce early). Got 6 runs in the 1-1/2 hours I was there. Private rentals are awesome! A regular test and tube day I would have been lucky to get 8 in all day.

Thanks again dude!

Need to get a squad to roll down to this one and I gotta find a helmet.

Nov should be nice and brisk to drop those IATs down

I've never been to MIR but I suppose there is a general pit/staging area where you can go and chill when not running?

At first yes but that was do to me not trusting the launch control function. By the 3rd run I let her rip and stayed in it. First run was a 12.9 without launch control and my last was a 12.1 with launch control. I could have gotten a flat 12 but I had to jet to a company function.

With some drag radials this be a 11.8 car easy. All stock btw 👍🏼

Yes there is a area to pit and chill or sit in the stands. You should have went today bro, perfect weather. As it get colder so does the ground and it gets harder to hook up.
