I purchased my non CP version back in late 2014, actually they didn't offer the CP version yet but I digress...anyway even today 3 years later I still get a big smile on my face every time I push the start button and go for a ride. She's completely stock without a single mod just like the day I picked it up from the dealership. So based on my experiences, you won't be missing a thing, i.e. plenty of power, plenty of fun!

Get the Comp package. Only box worth ticking. Non Comp is sort of dull unless you are a track junkie—where you can reallly appreciate the car for what its capable of. M3 is a charm on the track and I’m not talking about the the drag strip. Save money on aftermarket wheel/suspension and the exec package. These cars should not be sold without the Comp package. Exhaust volume is the same regardless. The burbles on decel and tone is where all the difference is.

I got the comp pack but I was originally just considering the base. I think I would have been happy either way. I doubt you would notice the extra power and I'm not that impressed with the exhaust so still considering an upgrade to MPE. It's nice, but I don't think essential and sounds like non-cp may suit your needs better.
By the way, you guys are killing me with this pricing. US$70k. I bought mine brand new at a good price for Aus which was US$105k. I believe full price is over US$125k here. Man we get screwed on car prices |

Everyone naturally wants to justify their purchase decision. I bought my first M car this year. Experienced both versions. As a daily driver, I had no desire to clean the 666 wheels every 4 to 7 days, reduced ride quality (around Detroit it is noticeable) and further risk of tire and wheel issues due to potholes and such. Now, if I was ordering one now, I would very much consider comp package with the 437 wheels. As others have said, you often second guess yourself as to whether you should have ponied up a little more to get the Mack daddy. Now if I can only decide whether to get the MPE, carbon diffuser and carbon spoiler.....
Great cars - all of them! |

Some of us didn't have a choice because there was no comp pack when we got our cars. You'll be fine. Enjoy the car and stop thinking about it. I'm not sure I would get it if ordering a new one since I don't care for the seats or wheels.

The base M3 in NZ is $147,700 AUD, or $115,000 USD. From there it only goes up... |

It helps that American dollars are worth more My co-worker is Irish and the import taxes they have, make it feel like the cars double in price.

It's fine OP. If comp pack was around in 2015 I'd probably get it just for the exhaust noise.
But you can switch to full coilovers and nt01 and exhaust of your choice if you ever get the bug or a "what if" feeling |

The simple fact that you asked the question on the forums tell me - you may already have regrets forming somewhere deep inside... I have a ?16, non CP because I was early like a few months... Didn?t think anything of it - UNTIL I STUPIDLY DROVE ONE WITH CP...

ZCP is a no brainer if you want certain items. For me it was all the blacked out trim, the suspension upgrades, and the cool seats. I opted for the 19" wheels.
This allowed me to control the cost of my upgrades which will only be mperformance suspension and hopefully mpexhaust. And zcp was the only option I checked when ordering. Again its all about what you want though. For me I knew id regret not getting zcp. |

For me the ZCP is a no brainer just for the sound and the wheels. I?ve driven both extensively. Consider also resale value... what you save now may impact the value you get in the future.

Honestly, ZCP or not, the problem depends on the person. When I first test drove the m3, I was 110% convince I wouldn't need more power, it seemed rediculous. I also bought mine with competition because the resale value seems to hold a little bit better.
That being said. I'm at 5k miles, and I'm already tuned. 3000 miles in, I was scared to jump on a tune because I thought it'd be too fast, but now that I've bit the bullet, I can't see anyone not wanting to opening up the car to its full potential. The extra powers addictive and ZCP power levels seems sluggish now. If you think you're eventually going tune your car, you don't need the ZCP. You'll make the same power levels. |

You always hear people saying the base 'Civic' M3 handles good enough on it's own, as if they are trying to convince themselves that they are happy with their choice. Let me tell you that the base M3 REALLY DOES handle well enough! It corners shockingly well for a sedan.
I just slapped on a BMS stage 1 for $400(10% tax). While the Stage 1 does not improve my cornering ability, it does quite handily beat the +19 HP gains from the CP. Even though the CP improves performance, you should look at lap time differences. They aren't that far apart, depending on the track of course.
