People who've ED'd: what did you fill your car with while in Europe? Was it recommended you keep the octane level low during break-in? What's the standard octanes available? What's the spread on the cost between them?

Super+ in Italy. 98 Octane European minimum through the rest (its rated differently and that actually amounts to somewhere in between 91 and 93 octane based on USA specs). When in doubt get the most expensive one (diesel is cheaper over there so this holds true in any country). Turbo and FI cars are abound throughout Europe so all the gas stations have high test gas. It will be relatively straightforward for ya.

Whatever is the highest octane available is what ive put in my car. It's not that big of a deal just be prepared to spend some money. Its around $110-120 USD to fill up.

I too went highest octane available. Usually 98. My rough math says I paid over $8 per gallon, more in Switzerland.

If you have a nice car in Europe, you must REALLY want a nice car.
