Very nice touch, both registration and insurance cards in NC contain home addresses So, I hide them in my cars.

In my old E90 M3 I found the option to change the nav screen day/night mode and made that one of my presets. I can't seem to find it anywhere in iDrive on my F80 M3. I just took a guess and discovered that I could use the audio command "day mode" or "night mode" which works about half the time.

I know it's probably in my manual somewhere, just haven't dug through it yet. Anyone point me to the right menu?

And good call on having a preset to turn the HUD on and off. That will be useful for when I'm low on gas and am tired of it flashing the gas filler icon at me, haha

What's the best way to set up Presets (radio)? For me, I want to be able to hit the shortcut button, have one of my presets come on, then be able to scroll using the wheel on the steering wheel. I would also like to have my NAV screen stay on..is this possible?

I've tried setting the radio station (e.g. preset #1) as the shortcut, but this doesn't always allow me to scroll through the presets option. Sometimes it's all stations, sometimes it's presets.

And in answer to the theft issue, if someone steals my car, there is going to be plenty in there that gives my home address (registration, insurance) that the nav home address in the nav system isn't going to be any more help.

And if I steal someone's car, I don't drive to their home. I drive as far away from it as possible

Did the same for my #8 and have been using it quite a bit. Don’t see the need to have the screen on if I’m not using anything on it!
