My review so far of the wheels:

1. 5 weeks was a grueling wait, but well worth it.
2. Solid, yet light, perfect finish on the wheel. These wheels are more hub centric than the factory wheels. The SV 104's push on snug to the hub, where my 437M's had to be held on the hub until you get a bolt in.
3. Easy to balance. I purchased black weights so they didn't stand out against the wheel. These were road force balanced and I had the guy turn the default Roadforce value down to 10 so the machine would be forced to force match the wheel and tire. As a result, used than 5 oz to balance all 4 wheels. The result is a car that's vibration free.
4. Excellent customer service from Jimmy
5. Fitment was spot on. I asked for flush with the fenders, however I could have been a little more aggressive and still been fine.

20X9.5. ET20 265/30/20 MP4S
20X11. ET40. 295/40/20 MP4S

Is that a typo with the rear at a 295/40? Mine are suppose to arrive today, but still trying to decide to wait for the 4S until late April or just go with the Extreme Contact Sport.
Yes sir. I'll fix it.

It looks good. I wish I was more knowledgeable about offsets so I have to ask. Does that make it more flush or deeper concave or both?

It makes it more flush I'm not sure if it changes the concavity tbh.

I'm going to have to follow up on your mods. My car is almost the same as yours minus the sunroof. I have been debating a drop as well but I cringe at the thought of worrying about speed bumps, steep drive way entrances, curbs, parking blocks, etc like I did back with the car I had in college over a decade ago.

If you have your mind set on getting a lip, I recommend starting there before the drop or vice versa.

I am also debating on carbon fiber vs drop vs both.

Looking forward to seeing what you do!

Wheel offsets are not too difficult to understand. In the case of our BMWs... As the offset number grows, the wheel will get closer towards the car. And as the offset number shrinks, the wheel will poke further away from the car.

Signature Wheel's recommended offset for 19x9.5 and 19x11 is ET20 and ET40. These numbers are a "safe" bet to ensure zero rubbing (outside and inside) on a variety of suspension and tire set ups. However, depending upon your suspension and tire choice, you can definitely go a little more aggressive.

Here is a good wheel offset calculator that can tell you how much room you will have. Wheels are one of the most expensive mods you can buy for your car. I believe it's important to know all you can know before dropping that kind of money.

I'm in the same boat as you. Rough roads, high curbs and dips coming into parking lots. Plus searching the forums yields squeaks and creeks on lowered suspensions. I just don't want it to become a constant PITA. Hopefully my Mode Carbon get shipped soon. Already been waiting 6 weeks!

I too was unsure how offset worked but this best explained it for me when I was doing my research.

True, you are absolutely right! However it becomes a little more tricky if you are planning on running different tyre set ups for different tracks/events, as the tire width plays a crucial part in fitment and position... its proving a fine balance with the F8X platform with limited R spec tyre options that meet load ratings and DSC specs...ideal set up seems to be 18x9.5 ET22 Front and 18x11 ET 44 Rear with either 265/295 or 275/305 tires (or combo of these) respectively...

Especially on the rear, as there's usually around 15mm of difference in width between 295 and 305 (subject to brand) so an 18x11 ET 40 works best for 295 and ET44 for 305, but if you plan to run both, which way do you go?

Hello,

What are you dropped on? I'm on KW HAS all the way down and wonder if I would clear without rubbing. Thanks

Thank you Lukasz. I actually went with a little bit more aggressive set up 20x9.5 et18 and 20x11 et38. Now the wait begins!

Looks great! What offsets did you go with and what tires/specs are those?

In some pictures the tires look almost non-existent on 20's and in others they look like the perfect amount of sidewall.

Got my wheels on this weekend and couldn't be happier. Great finish and in the sun they look awesome. Instead of waiting until May for tires, I bought the new Continental Extreme Contact Sport that was just released a month ago. After about 300 miles I do not regret it. They get every bit of dry traction and feel for a street tire compared to my PSS. And to top it off they are a lot more quiet. Like major difference. I took the gamble and went with a 275/30 on the front. It kissed a spot on the plastic fender liner that bulged when I turned the wheel all the way over. Just took a heat gun and molded it away and no more rubbing. Clears fender no problem without adding any camber. 295/30 on the rear.

The clean look of those Contis go well with both the car and the wheels. Love the SV104s!

Now I want to see an F8x with the SV105s on.

Yes these side walls and tread pattern are similar to the new 4S as well. Almost makes you wonder if they had the same engineer designed both. lol

I think all of Signature's look really good on the F8x body.

Nice setup. Are the wheels brushed black tinted? I've been looking for pics of that color on silverstone. It looks great.

Hey Exo, I love your car and it's serving as inspiration for the mods I'm potentially going to pursue but how much clearance does your lip have?

It's a good thing you have a plastic lip but it still has me wondering wtf you and others with similar setups do when there's a speed bump?
