Anyone else considering the M2 Competition as their next car?

Very intrigued by this car now that it has an S variant motor. My lease is up at the end of this year and it is at or near the top of my list. Anyone else in the same boat?

Ehh I would check one out in person first if you havent already. Its a decent step down in interior quality and the back seat is very cramped. Not to mention I believe its actually heavier than the M3/4 which kind of defeats the purpose.

Garage List
2020 M2 Competition  [10.00]
2007 E86 M coupe  [8.38]
2002 E39 M5  [9.00]
Yes, I'm thinking about it. I'm looking for something smaller since my E39 M5 and F80 M3 are essentially the same size. I was impressed with the current M2 when I drove it. I think the M2C is going to be a fantastic car.

The car gained something like 125-150 lbs on an already very heavy car - more so when you consider how small it is.
I don’t think m3/4 are great quality wise, but the M2 is a good step down if not more. On top of that, I think the price will make it a terrible value for the performance or likely lack thereof. As we have seen, the M3/4 CS are not much better performance than a competition m3/4.

I will most likely acquire one, if I can get an allocation. I can't wait to see/read the reviews of this vehicle in the coming weeks.

Definitely an improvement over the existing M2, but a detuned S engine coupled with being heavier than the M3/4 is a major turn off.

No...heavier than an M3/4, less power, no CF roof, downmarket interior.

I'm on the list for one but not sure if I'll pull the trigger.

Hoping the Supra will get that motor

You can get a CF roof installed at the dealership

Detuned, yes. Still at 400 or so hp. And i doubt most will be able tell that the M2 comp is a heavier car during every day driving.

Take the new giant brakes off it, it is lighter than the M4. In Europe the new brakes are an option, M2 Comp is 10kg lighter than the M4. With that said, the new brakes are amazing, CCB calipers with new iron rotors. It is going to rip, spy shots of the M2 Comp testing on the Nurburgring date back over a year ago. No doubt they dialed it in.

You have insider info to confirm? Bummer.

N55 Supra is unlikely to be able to live up to the 1000hp aftermarket legacy of the last gen. I was hoping s55 would be in there to help people try

No - way too tight of an interior (go drive one firsthand!), and I absolutely need 4 doors.

True, alas, if you are only using that car to drive on the street "every day", you are probably not shopping/wasting your money on an M2CS in the first place!

No thank you. The CP makes the M2 no more appealing than before. I still don't see the draw.

M4 and up for me. Lol...
But, on a serious note, I think the M2 is a phenomenal car but it's too small for me. I think the M4/M3 look much nicer!!

I had to Google the specs before believing this. How did they manage to make it heavier than an M4...
