Wow, and what a crash it was! 30 years ago and the driver would be dead.

You got to love the WWII fire helmets. I had a used one when I was stationed in Bitburg in the 70's. They haven't changed a bit.

Glad he made it with just minor injuries. He wrapped that thing around two trees.

I was stationed in Germany from 95-97. Been here since 05 for my second tour and now work as a US Govt civilian. My wife lived in Germany for over 25 years when I met her when I was in Bamberg the first time. She's Italian. Most of what I know, I know from her. We're in Stuttgart now after stints in Hiedelberg, Kaiserslautern and Vilseck. I love this place. You can't beat the peace and quiet....and some of the worlds best tracks and roads.

I also heard from friends in Munich that the vehicle in question was being driven by the 20 year old to a Sixt car rental location for another person that was going to rent it that day. All in all, it sucks to be THAT GUY right now if it is true that the car was not actually his.

Maybe that's beacuse of BMW's excellent weight reduction efforts! The car was so light, even mother nature is protected.

Evidently a questionable business decision by Sixt or whoever was contracted to transport it.

Another good reason to follow break-in protocol. Driving schools a really great idea as well.

Was this one of the cars from the M4 group delivery?
