Amaro Brown window sticker for reference

Hey all,

I've been asked countless times about exactly how to order AB as an interior option and what the codes are etc.

I figured I'd post my window sticker just as a reference and maybe it will help some of you guys.

To the best of my knowledge, the codes for the Amaro Brown interior are ZAP5 for Amaro Brown extended and then SAXT1 for "Merino Leather Dashboard." You want to make sure to have both options ticked off, and this gives you the "more brown" dashboard that you can see in my attached pic.

Pricing is $4300 for the Executive package, and then $4000 for the ZAP5 Amaro Brown Extended addition (vs $3600 for standard full black).

Without the SAXT1 code only "Extended Leather" is possible. I'm not sure 100% how this translates over to MY16 models because now AB is actually selectable in the configurator, so I'm sorry if this ended up being posted too late to help.

Best regards and as always if you have any questions those of us who have gone through the process are here to help

Your window sticker is not a good reference as it contains a couple of errors...

- the $4000 price is labeled for "Ext" (Extended) Individual leather instead of Full.
- for the MY2015, Individual Full Leather was actually a $1350 up-charge on top of the $2550 Full Leather charge if the Executive package was also selected. So the $4000 in your window sticker is $100 more than the actual price.

I do not know how that window sticker was printed that way but it does not match BMW own Pricing Guide for MY2015.

All these prices changed for MY2016. According to preliminary orders it seems that BMW considerably lowered the pricing of Individual Full Leather by about $850 or so.

Hmmm weird. I've heard other people with the same numbers thrown at them that I have quoted here though as well.

Regarding what you said about extended vs full, you're both right and wrong. Amaro Brown and all the "semi individual colors" are actually only offered in extended leather, not full. When you add the "Merino Dashboard" (at no charge) you get the equivalent full leather dash, albeit with bit more of the colored leather instead of black. Even for MY16 you'll notice on the configurator that the other colors only come in Extended.

This is why I made sure to stress requesting option SAXT1, and it really makes the interior much warmer as well, as a lot of the bits on my dashboard in a SO or Silverstone car would actually have been black and not the selected color choice.

Even if what you are saying is correct -which it is not, as there is no such thing as "semi-Individual" and Amaro Brown is an Individual color available since introduction in Extended and Full Leather options- still the thing is that the pricing is incorrect for MY2015 based on the Ordering Guide. Individual colors added $1350 to any regular leather option (Extended or Full) for MY2015.

Now, what could have happened for MY2015 -and seems corrected in MY2016- is that Individual Full Leather required manual entry in the dealer ordering system and that could have caused the pricing error.

All this is academic now, as (stated before) all this seems to have been fixed and price lowered for MY2016.

Enjoy your interior!

Everything we are talking about is "semi-individual," as a true Individual Interior can be designed from the ground up. . . See these threads for actual Individual Interiors:

http://f80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho...ght=individual

http://f80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho...ght=individual

"Individual" means you pick a color, not you pick from a preselected 1/5 options. . . Hence why what I got was "Semi Individual" because there is no option such as ZAP5 (Amaro Brown) to get Java Green Stitching and Java Green Trim. . . THAT is true individual.

I have ordered enough Individual interiors for the last 11 years to know what is Individual. This "semi-Individual" crap was invented in this forum. It does not come from BMW.

So save that crap for somebody else.

Would you prefer I call it "sort-of-pseudo-Individual" instead? It's not a true Individual Interior if there is an option code for it. . . Its less confusing to differentiate for prospective buyers by demonstrating the difference. Ordering a car with options that are directly available on the configurator simply is not individual ordering. I agree, "semi-individual" is a term that was coined on this forum, but its fitting and the process can be extremely confusing.

If it wasn't for the help I got on the forum in learning about how to go about "Individual" orders I never would have been able to get it done because my SA was new to the process and I placed my order back in early June of 15 before there was really any help on here about f80 individual orders.

I understand what you're saying, and that you have a lot of experience with individual orders, which is why I'm surprised you're so against considering these "color choices" something separate from true individual orders because they are not one and the same. I'm happy to call them whatever you want if you would prefer to coin another descriptor. I'm also happy to have provided ordering advice to over 25 individual members since I placed my f80 order for "Semi-Individual" (I went back to calling it that again since I still don't know what you would rather call it and that name makes sense).

Anything that comes out from a BMW factory has a code, regardless if it is Individual or not.

What you are seeing in the USA with the M3/M4 now has been going on with BMW outside the USA for about 20 years. Individual creates "Compositions" from time to time as part of factory options to get customers literally hooked with Individual -otherwise the only way to get Individual anything is via special orders. Individual Composition included a matched set of Individual exterior and interior colors, trims and wheels. All in one package.

BMWNA started offering these Individual Compositions in the 7-Series first years ago, then moved to the 5-Series, then to the E93 M3. For the F8x M3/M4 there is no Composition offered but just Individual exterior and/or interior colors factory order-able, no need of a separate special order.

So there is nothing new or "semi" in all this. What you found out from your SA/CA is that they are really ignorant in their own job. A phone call to BMWNA can get you anything Individual, and they have that number as it is part of their training. Even Individual themselves at Garching answer emails...

Of course, you can still do Individual orders, in which you order whatever your wallet can handle. This does not make the Individual factory orders less significant, just more accessible, easily and faster order-able for customers and dealers.

So this is confusing to me and I've been trying to figure it out for my 2016 individual order. The INDV Amaro Brown only lists as 'Extended'.

Can I get it full?

How much is it going to cost me WITHOUT executive package?

You need to contact your dealer as people in here have reported between $950 (XT1, Full Leather) on top of the Individual Extended Leather ($2300 no Executive Package) and $4000 with contrast stitching with Executive Package.

So there is still something not quite right going on. Only your dealer can tell you exactly how much it would be.

Haha yeah I think he's a bit confused too because I want to order w/o Exec. According to the 2016 ordering guide 'Extended Amaro Brown' should be $1350 w/ Exec and $2300 without. But no mention of Full Amaro Brown anywhere.

Your dealer needs to look for "XT1" in their system and add it to your "ZAP5" so then it becomes Full Leather.

I am in the process of going through this for my 2016 M3. As it has been mentioned around the forum the XT1 special order option contains the additional leather coverage that turns Extended individual into Full individual. XT1 is $950. From what I understand only an ordering specialist at BMWNA can add this option to the order, the dealer will have to work with them to make it happen, this is what I have been told by the good folks at BMWNA.

Anyone know the difference between Amaro Brown and Golden Brown Extended Merino Leather?

From pictures on bmwusa, Amaro Brown looks dark, but from the above pictures, it actually looks really nice.

Amaro is the darker of the two. Golden has a hint of orange/cinnamon to it, especially in bright light.

I personally thought golden looked way too bright, but seeing pictures of JTO24 new M3 makes me think golden looks fantastic.

Gold brown is definitely more rust/cinnamon than Amaro. Here is a comparison:

This shot is in direct sunlight and a little over saturated:

As Technic said, SAXT1, or option XT1 provides "Merino Leather Dashboard" (visible on my sticker for no charge) which makes the car full leather. Pricing is all over the place, and Technic says my price may have been off by $100 on the sticker as well. But then he mentioned 4k for Amaro + Contrasting Stitching, and that's what it looks like I have.

I'll look for my window sticker and see how the extended gold brown is listed as a comparison. Maybe it'll help clear things up a tad lol
