Yup, that's what it says. It's a one-of build for SEMA.

The "30 years American edition" is just the theme for the car shown at SEMA used to showcase BMW's in-house customization capability through M-Performance and Individual.

OMG Interior Design? WTF They should have asked for a Bimmerpost vote before starting to put together that interior. Hideous!

In defense of the designer, if you see the introduction video linked in post #7, it seems she started to chuckle at the interior and didn't seem into the exterior all that much either. Definitely not proud of her work, almost like she didn't agree with the design and was merely following orders, or possibly realized the calamity after it was produced.

I didn't read it like that. Regardless, its hideous.

Albert Biermann was correct. BMW lost its way when the marketing division became more important than the engineering division. It's one of the reasons the older M3 models are so coveted and revered at the same time.

I do however like the pale gold wheels...
It's the same stripe that was on the M4 concept car. I want one. That's the only cool thing about this car.

I love the shifter and the exterior color. The rest has to be redone.

If money was no object for me, I would definitely drive this every 4th of July But seriously, I don't really get what all the hate is about, aren't most SEMA cars over the top?

Personally I think the gold wheels on satin red look pretty cool and BMW is showing its respect of our country with the interior. I give BMW props for not doing something everyone will like and going against the grain.

For the record I drive a mineral grey f80 with beige interior and subtle mods. So I'm pretty conservative as far as styling. But again, if I had the money, I would definitely buy this and keep it as "once and while special car". Who knows might be worth a lot in 30 years

I do like the shift knob and armrest btw.
So in other words, BMW tarted up a car for SEMA and you came away with a positive impression of the shift knob and the amrest ?!

I just want to make sure that's correct. If so, then please re-read every post in the thread until the proper affect (No, not effect, see Webster additional definitions ) sinks in.
I'm saying every actual car at SEMA is tarted up. Most booths just have parts to show, when a supplier does bring a whole car it is always a Frankenstein with every part they can bolt on. I've never seen a tasteful SEMA car that I'd want to own. In fact I challenge anyone here to find any tasteful car that was at SEMA.
