Question on the new incentives I received

Hey guys,

I am currently leasing a M235 and plan to upgrade to a leased M4. Recently I participated a ski lottery by BMW NA and received an incentive as below.

"Thank you for registering for the BMW and Ski Magazine Zermatt Sweepstakes.
Specific rules apply
Even if you are not selected, we are offering you $1,000* towards the purchase price of a new BMW. This offer is valid until June 30th, 2017."

Just wonder from you guys' experiences, can I use it towards a lease program because on it doesn't indicate if it's a purchase/loan/lease. Thanks!

Regards!

Eligible models include: All new 2016 and 2017 BMWs except the M2 Coupe, M4 GTS Coupe and European Delivery vehicles. Yes, you can use it for a leased car.
The credit gets treated as an additional down-payment on the car, regardless of the way you fund the purchase: {lease, finance, pay in cash}

Keep in mind that it will be an additional discount off your lowest negotiated price. its basically free cap cost reduction to reduce your payment.

It does not hurt to tell a dealer you have it of course, but when you are negotiating on your vehicle, keep in mind that incentive is YOURs and is in addition to any other incentives you might qualify for.

If you negotiated a price of 1k over invoice (as a gross cap cost) this 1k would be listed on the contract as cap cost reduction.

Thanks man. The dealer confirmed I can use it toward a 2017 lease. Appreciate it!

Thanks! it ended up with a rebate for MSD, meaning I received smaller benefit from the incentive. The dealer won't want to lower the cap cost reduction

Looks like a legit incentive; too bad it only works for legal residents of 14 east coast states...

g'luck to you!

Find another dealer ... this is money coming from BMW not the dealership ...

+1

There is no reason that incentive (the 1K) has anything at all to do with any other part of the deal, or discounts you receive (other than the dealer trying to keep some of it, otherwise known as "negotiations").

Yeah... they just wanna fuxk me as a bit more as they can. I guess I am still a rookie in negotiating with NJ dealer...

Eventually I went with them for nearly fully loaded 2017 M4 MSRP $85,745. Was able to get $8,000 off plus $1,000 as the rebate at the end of lease. Final month bill at $860 with taxes and fees enrolled.

Just want to provide an update to you guys. Guess I will do better for my next one

agreed, didn't realize I can get the monthly bill for another $40 lower with that incentives. Guess I am too newbie for this

Definitely will do better for the next lease term.

PS: posted the terms just want to provide an update to you guys

What dealer are you using?

A few unscrupulous ones have been known to apply customer-benefiting BMW credits behind your back, and keeping those rebates to themselves.

Congrats on your new toy.
If the cash flow is tolerable, don't worry about anything else. Live and learn. No point in agonizing over could haves and would haves...
