2015 6mt f80 vs. Hellcat

Hi all,

Had some fun with a Hellcat on friday. 73 degree ambient temps, me on winter tires, from a ~5mph roll up to the end of 3rd gear.

Hellcat sounded amazing and consistently pulled away from me at all points including at the end of 3rd gear. 2nd fastest car I've seen on the street against the f8x platform; fastest is still a well tuned rs7.

Fun to race; don't recommend taking them on stock

ummmm yea......taking on 700HP in a straight line is not much of a race. Get him on the track and see if his time is as impressive as his straight line pull.

The point wasn't to win or to beat him and brag, it's just to share an experience. Winning every race isn't that much fun, and being beaten by an inch isn't always fun either because then it's driver error...this was simply an experience of how much faster this other car was - and it was fun to see him walk away from me even when I was fully hooked up in the meat of the 3rd gear powerband.

If you only compete against people you think you'll win against, you are missing out on alot of fun in life

Reminds me of the standard rebuttal during my Subaru days when people would point out that the STI understeered and was generally beaten by other cars on the track.

"Yeah, but take the [other car] on to a dirt rally course and see how it performs!"

I whipped up a challenger srt8 yesterday to get back at the American muscle for you . He was a sport about it and gave me a huge smile and thumbs up after. My only performance mod is JB4.

bah, who cares about 0-60, it doesn't tell the real story

Trap speed of 125 ish is all you need to know. 118 vs 125 trap you are going to lose.

Sounds like a good time. The Hellcat is a beast. The M3 isn't the muscle car many want it to be. It's a great all round car period. As much as I love mine I will be moving on to a ZO6 this year. I miss having a muscle car ;-)
