SOS Emergency Call Malfunction
Has anyone ever gotten an error like this for the SOS system? The car is not even a week old. It's going back to the dealership but I was curious.

Update: PUMA case had to be opened by my dealership. They tried software update but that didn't fix it. BMW NA says telephone module needs to be replaced and then reprogramming for the module.

I did. The speaker under the dash on the driver's side was unplugged.

Hi people,
digging this thread up, I have the same problem with my F82. And only after 1.5 month and less than 1600 miles (2500 km) I also get wrong position on the gps, something like 15 km off. Any suggestions? Is there any hidden menu for the idrive to check connectivity with gps? I've tried reseting idrive holding the mute button for 10 secs but everething is the same.

Had the same thing happened to me a few times, as I travel a lot and the M4 sits in the garage.
The first time it happened, I let a trickle charger connected for a couple of days and the light went out. Did this twice, because there is a rechargeable backup battery that gets depleted if the car sits for too long. The last time it did not go away, so I replaced the battery ($47 at the dealer) and it took less than a minute to swap the old for the new. The unit in mine is in the trunk, toward the back seats and underneath the black panel covering the tire kit. Hope this helps! |
