Ordering an M3 LCI 2.0 in AU

Any idea how this:

http://f80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho....php?t=1332289

might affect Australian delivered M3's?

When would the earliest point be that an LCI 2.0 be made for Ausrralia?

I guess I'm wondering if this delay only affects the US.

I'm from Australia. Have ordered a special paint M3 and dealer has confirmed production will start in March and include LCI 2.0

since aussie f80's are pretty much fully optioned since lci 1, there really isn't much - the american's get a much better deal on the facelift

lci 2 for aus brings restyled headlight halos (still reflector leds unfortunately), black coloured M logo on seats, and idrive s/w

i was hoping to see an updated hvac panel design similar to what's in the new 5 and 7

seems australian spec ditches that horrible usb port slapped on under the hvac panel, at least we've avoided it so far on idrive 5.0 cars

Are you not going CP? There's heaps of cars you can have now. I was told there were 2 in the country in what I wanted, with 4 more on the way already.

Right, and the changes over the new interface for 5?

Also, as 5 included a hardware update (touchscreen), will 6 be a software update for 5 users?

Yeah it's going to be a long wait!! But worth it. Not sure if it's going to take longer as it's a special colour and whether it's going to be plated 2018 or 2017

There are also some small changes to the wiper stork, indicators and HUD
And get to choose black 666 wheels now

Spoke with BMW today and hey confirmed that 5 to 6 is just software as has been mentioned. As to whether or not it would be upgradable he couldn't say. I've read on this forum today however that it is possible. I didn't go into great detail, but it seems some people have it already. It may be beta form or something like that. With applications such as CarPlay easily upgradable by the dealer to non CarPlay vehicles, is expect similar things for iDrive 6.

Hope this is not true, I love the way it is now. You just flick it and it goes back into place for short or long indicates.

Hmmm maybe worth asking your dealer contact to confirm.

Internal bulletin shows all upgrades are applicable to the M3 from March....non M cars from April.

Finally ordered my M3. Looking like April production so thankfully including all updates.

Now to hunt down pictures of the black wheels.

I've seen one or two M3's on carsales with them, or would they just be aftermarket painted?
