DCT Reset?
I used to have this done on the E46 M3 SMG transmission by holding the downshift and upshift on the paddle to reset the SMG but was wondering if this worked with the DCT transmission. I dropped my car off at the dealer today and told them to check on any software updates and do a tranny reset (if that's even a term), but overall just have a look at the car for any updates. The D3 mode is a little jerky and when talking to the BMW rep they said a software update should resolve this. What do you guys think?

You will probably have to define "jerky", generally D3/S3 under WOT is a bit jerky as the clutch pack is essentially dropping the "hammer" while the engine is giving it a rip. On my C300 i have a transmission reset sequence that I do once every couple months, hold gas peddle turn single left and spin around three times. Let me know if you get any updates, I wonder if I need one |

the only thing the dealer told me was that the programming could take a few hours so i dropped it off in the morning and will pick it up after work today in the evening.

Made me smirk. Is it just me?

There is a procedure to reset DCT adaptions in Autologic, likely in ISTA.

Got the car back from the dealer after a day. looks like they did some soft of software update and reset the dct as if the car was never driven.... almost like a hard reboot. So now all my settings are gone which i need to reprogram to my key/seat. They also did a free inspection on the car and thankfully everything checks out. Give it a shot if you have a 2015 DCT and have never done this before.

I'd say for anybody with a 2015 - if you like your badass mule-kick-you-in-the-ass transmission DO NOT UPDATE. The new DCT software is pussified. |
