Download the latest version of their flash app and under diagnostics (Where you backup/restore the coding data) you will now see reset adaption option.

Yes, this. Very simple. And worked like a charm for my throttle sensitivity issues after flashing back.

Understood. I think we are saying the same thing in different ways. Just getting my ducks in a row before Tuesday. Thanks for all your help!

Sorry for the "crickets", last week was Car Week in Monterey
so we were swamped prepping cars and weren't as active as
normal on the forums.

Send me a PM or e-mail and I can point you in the right direction
to check your flash counter. It can be done with E-Sys but is a bit
tricky to navigate.

Shit, I?ve been meaning to ask (for a year). I see a lot of people on other tunes are swapping their plugs, and changing the gaps.

Is any of this recommended with the Hex Stage 1?

I have no issues.. but always wanted to know.

Thanks.

Had the Stage 1 tune for my 6MT for two full days, nothing but amazing things to say. Full review coming in a separate thread.

The throttle sensitivity issues worked themselves out as the throttle adapted in the first hour. The driveability is better in some cases than OEM tune. It is predictable, and not overwhelming at all. The power is always there but you have to dig down for it, its not a completely unbridled and uncontrollable crotch rocket when you're, for example, pulling into a parking space or taking the wife to dinner.

I only drove in Sport + before the tune, and I assumed this would no longer be possible due to sensitivity issues once I tuned.

I have been in Sport + for the entire 48 hours and have no jolting forward or bucking since the first hour.

Anyone on the fence on this tune (as I was for an entire year) please feel free to contact me via PM.

We've flashed hundreds of these cars now and have seen absolutely
no reason to recommend any changes in plug temperature or gap
with any of our Stage Power Levels.

If your car is at a service interval where they are recommending
changing the plugs, we still highly recommend staying w/ OEM spec.

This is tough for me to say, but I really need VF-Engineering to follow up on their PM?s.

Not sure what is going on over there... hopefully it is just that they are swamped with work.

Try emailing them or just call. I get pretty quick responses to emails with Gary

Questions -

Sorry didn't read all 87 pages...once the ECU is unlocked and flashed if I went stage 1 I could also have a ZCP map and my "stock" map? I would be able to switch maps myself if I also buy your OBD port device from the comfort of my own drivers seat?

If you do switch maps does the Ecu have to re-learn from scratch?

Can I ask if any of you VF users are waiting for a new flash / map ?

I had some warranty work done on my car 3 months ago which involved having my s/w updated on my ecu.

Since then I have been waiting for VF to issue me a new map that works with the latest BM software,

Anyone else in the same boat as me ? Been driving around with a CEL for a while now (catless DP's) !!

Several people are waiting on several things.

It bothers me to say this, since we are at their mercy. I?ve been waiting on a response from my PM for over a week now. Someone else has been promised something, and it?s well past the date they should have received it.

As wonderful as their Tune is... they need to get their response time back in order. Streamline the process, hire more people.. or at least give a realistic date on when something will be received.. and don?t miss it.

This has already turned 2 people away, that I know of.

PERSONAL OPINION? best tune on the market, for what I, and many others are looking for, no doubt. But when people cannot get their files... what?s the point?

These type of scenarios would make me go BM3. PTF are on top of things. I thought VF was also until reading this.

It's a real shame but can only agree with the missed deadlines etc. I had a whatsapp from Mike who stated the file would be ready by 28th July (which was already 6/7 weeks in).......still nothing today.

Now I know it takes time to manage these things with recoding etc but how long is long enough ? After reading some of the comments I'm starting to feel that existing customers are nowhere on the priority list, I even started to think VF went out of business due to the radio silence.

I have to also highlight that I have to keep chasing for updates as none are coming my way.

I think I've been very patient but soon it'll be winter in the U.K. and the map will be pointless....I needed it over summer.

All in all I'm very disappointed.

I suggest you all call them or email them. I have had no issues with responsiveness to either of those methods. This forum isn't the most reliable for support for any vendor.

I had a similar issue back in May where the dealer flashed my car to 61.4 from 58.3 after I told my SA that I have a tune and not to flash my car. The tech did it anyway to troubleshoot a passenger power seat issue and my SA never mentioned to me at pickup. Needless to say that I did not know this and when I got home and tried to re-flash stage 1 on my car it became bricked. I contacted VF and they were on it and got my car restored within 24hrs. Hats off to them for the awesome service!

Now they did not have a 61.4 template since it was very new at the time and it did take about 3 months to get the new stage 1 file. They told me they were restructuring all there new files. I'm not sure what all is involved but it seems its not a very easy task? Plus, it was about 4-6wks of them testing the new file on their shop car. I do know that my original Stage 1 file was 513KB and the new one is 4093KB. Once received the file worked flawless and had no issues whatsoever. I know the wait sucks and I did my part of bugging VF weekly but at the end I'm glad I received a thoroughly tested file and have no issues. I received a pretty quick response from VF email (Technical@vf-engineering.com).
