My recommendation: unless you've already tracked the car and have found the MDM to be troublesome, hold off until you get a chance to figure out if you really need it.

Frankly, I don't see the point of dicking with the MDM. Either full TCS for day-to-day or none for the track, and learn throttle modulation.

I found the euro mdm is more helpful for beginning students. the us spec is just way too stringent and quite useless. but it doesn't mean you should act a fool. this car can bite anyone that does not respect it even with DSC fully enabled.

I've tracked the car. Full DSC off I'm not ready for yet.. I will straight up admit that. MDM is way too intrusive. My 135 with traction off and DSC on allowed more slip than that.

Have you experienced Euro MDM on F8X platform?

I need Euro MDM bad. In MDM my car does not seem to allow any slip.

I did this a few weeks ago and it's way better it does not cut power right away the car it's sideways very quickly. I Like it for street driving. In the track I'll try everything off.

Yes, I believe all of the euro delivery cars had euro MDM because of the significant slip angle they allowed on Spa.

You are talking about your big delivery thread? Weren't those cars US spec? Do you really think they would load Euro MDM on those?

I really think they had been coded for EU spec while we were there and then they were remapped for delivery in the US. Makes sense since the navigation module was EU coded. I was with the same student in the same car in both continents on two different race tracks but similar enough corners and the US version is significantly more conservative. If I have my laptop and ENET cable for the next euro delivery i will be curious to verify that, but its what I felt.

Wow that's interesting to hear and also very surprising. On another note were you able to use Connected Drive services while in Europe?

I just coded mine up, got a nice TPMS warning that I need to reset. Will take it for a spin in the morning. I coded everything that was different. I would be interested to find out if I really need everything or just a subset.

After resetting TPMS this morning (no issues with the eurospec that was set thankfully), I decided to drop her into MDM mode. Let me tell you, it is significantly more aggressive! Just the way I honestly thought it always should be. The difference between US MDM and US full TC is almost non-existent. With the EuroMDM there is a distinct difference between the two. As previous posters have eluded, it is definitely easier to get sideways. The MDM still will catch you if you go around hooning into stupidville, but otherwise is much less intrusive.

What's with the TPMS reset? Is that fixed while coding or does it have to visit the dealership?

I coded euro mdm this evening. Haven't had a chance yet to test it out but had the tpms warning and when I went to reset it it took awhile and never finished. I'll hopefully be able to try and reset it tomorrow and test it out.

I had Euro MDM coded, I notice a small issue since. The BMW online Widgets does not work , I usually have the weather & clock on my split screen on the right side. Since coding it does not see to be able to connect to the BMW online service anyone experiencing this?

BMW widgets have not been working for awhile. Has nothing to do with your MDM coding.

I recently updated my F82 M4 to the euro MDM spec, and I must say I love it thus far!

One thing I did notice and wanted to see if others noticed was my calculated values where NOT the same as the US spec listed in this thread. I presume it may have to do with the car in reference being an F83? I wonder if that means these values are adjusted by model F80, F82 and F83. Does anyone have their original US MDM settings to compare, and even better yet a euro F82 to compare to?

F82 M4 Original Settings:
C_Laenderkennung => US
CTpmsMarket => US
CPrewarnEnable => disable
CPrewarnIgnition => disable
CalLrPDevMax => 100kpa
CPInitRangeMax => 200kpa
UiaSetLevelPc => 25%
UiwSetLevelPc => 20%
C_Werksnummer => Werte = 01, 10 (Calculated value)
C_Codierdatum => Werte = 14, 07, 31 (Calculated value)
