unless you are looking from the ground and the car is on a lift above your head, then I guess you could see the bottom of the painted scoop area

Mine is the poly M lip and there is an indent slighty where the carbon ones are to fit into but if you don't mind it fits and looks great. Not even in inch from the car scoop to the the lip where it is indented but its about the length of the bumper where it curves down, across, and up again.

YES. With no splitters there will be a gap and it'll look bad

i want to do the carbon lip only without the splitters, and Mike's pics show you can get away with it on carbon as it's a smooth finish where the splitter meets the lip,

whereas the plastic lip looks like it has clips/indents

It doesn't look that bad to me but some are perfectionists. Been lookin for used scoops but if don't get them anyways, seems fine to me. People that don't know what the groove is for probably won't even say anything about, they probably assume its just there. Its all in each others heads...more things to worry about than a groove, clip or whatever on there. Bad is a cracked carbon lip, to me seems ok I ain't trippin over it. Everyone different tho get either lip is all I'm saying makes the front look much better than without one!!

I bought an ECS branded aftermarket and it was horrible, so I returned it and went with OEM
