Order Placed-2018 M3

Well i finally did it. I placed an order for a 2018 M3 Competition with a July or Aug production, depending on the colour i choose. I am planning to do an ED.

Still trying to decide on a few things, your input is welcome.

Colours:
-Tanzanite
-Azurite Black
-Mineral White

Should i get the Connectivity package?

Should i go with extended or full leather?

I picked up my 2018 M4 a few weeks ago and I love it.

Pick the colour that you like best.

Get everything if you can swing it.

Congrats. Full leather for sure. Car feels cheap without it. I did ED in July 2016, it's such an awesome experience.

Def do full leather! I don't have it but wish I did (bought my car used though).

Full leather without a doubt. The car looks cheap without it in my opinion.

The problem with full leather is that you have to order it with the Executive package and you cant get the executive package unless you order the Premium package. Total BS if you ask me. So to get full leather i have to fork out $9K. In the US, you can order executive pkg standalone.

The Connectivity Pkg comes with Apple car play, wifi hotspot, and wireless charging.

I have the Connectivity package. It came with wifi hotspot. Was great for the first month when I used up all 3GB of it and then AT&T wanted me to subscribe for US$15 or so I believe per month. Wireless charging is a nice feature but slow. S7 works. iphone requires a special case. I haven't really used it Apple car play.

I don't think it's fair to say that an almost $100,000 looks cheap without full leather. It definitely looks much nicer. I would have ordered it but it would have delayed my order. I got the LED lights anyways which is $2,000 out of $5,000. If you're thinking about it and money is not an issue than go for it. I think that $5,000 package also includes 360 view, heated rear seats and sunshades. I regret not getting it sometimes, but I also love the black dash contrast with SO interior.

Did you get the LED lights after the fact? I didn't want to get the exec package, but the LED lights are kinda growing on me after seeing it on my friends F32. I wasn't able to individually add the LED lights when I ordered mine on my 18 build.

CarPlay is TRASH!!! Just order enhanced Bluetooth and iDrive is better. Plus Siri still works through the steering wheel button if you need it.

Agree with others, get full leather. Fully loaded if possible. Also did ED last July '16 and had the time of my life.

Keep in mind Mineral White is an extremely hard colour to match if you ever need paint repairs.

And definitely get full leather. That was my one and only regret of not getting it.

So, whats the difference between full leather and the individual leather option? For individual, it says extended. I am confused.

I would skip the Connectivity Package.

I wouldn't say that not getting the full leather cheapens the look of the car. My door cards and other standard area have leather and it's still nice.

Have you seen the 2 versions (leather and non-leather) up close?

Full leather looks better when you first get it, but if you don't tint your front windshield, the dash leather will eventually bubble and crack.

Agreed. As long as you treat the leather, I think your ok. I had a leather dash in a previous car and this was an issue, again...handle with care and I am sure it will be fine. It def looks better and for that I feel it is def worth it.

Good call on the full leather!

Will be hard to find a Tanzinite, I have seen one in person. It's nice but too close to black for me and I am not a fan of black cars only because of the maintenance required to keep them clean etc. I am a little ocd and dark blue/black would kill me, that's just me though.

It's a beautiful color in person. Navy blue/black with a pearl. There was a member here selling one recently...here are a couple of pics - you can see the blue in some pcis and then it looks black as well:

It's Tanzanite...it looks black because there is no sun hitting it.
