C'mon guys, keep it clean. Padfan9 came on with intentions to receive feedback on the OP subject. I know when I first considered PPF, I was curious as to how many people actually did it vs. just leaving their cars as-is. All 1Ms I came across in the pre-M3 consideration stages had them on, so I just thought it was a natural option to have if you valued your car's front end.

Hopefully it will help others who are considering going through the process. I did Suntek self healing, although they only offer a 5-yr warranty. The Xpel quotes I received were although I'm positive it's better in the long run for those who can afford it.

We live in a bubble. Other than me, it seems this forum is full of perfect individuals. No one ever has had "I hope no one saw this moment" and no one is flawed.

In my case, the car not being wrecked is pure dumb luck and driving for years on ice. When I let lose, I'm worse than the boy racers here. I have a smashed windscreen on my car to proof it.

We could use a little spirit (not bottled one) here. Every fuckup is a lesson indeed.

I love my two rock chips. First one I got while driving like an arse and I deserved it, the second one came when I was taking my kiddo to the doctor and I had really hard time concentrating on the road while trying to keep him awake.

I've looked into the price of some of these clear bras.To be honest I'm not sure why it cost so much for a some saran wrap (xpel). I'd think if you get a good sized chip it would be easier to just repaint the front. Wouldn't the plastic stuff look just as bad and can it be repaired? How long does this stuff really last in real world driving, rain, summer etc?
