Individual Color Touch Up Paint

Has anyone gotten any luck on purchasing touch up paint at their local dealers, especially for individual colors? I had my SA try and get me some touch up paint for my Atlantis Blue color, and he came back saying that it's unavailable anywhere in the world . He's has asked me to reach out to BMW USA to express my displeasure to learn that why it's unavailable.
I'm curious if anyone has tried.

Because to make any money on it they would have to charge you $800 a bottle?

I thought any paint job can read the color code of your car and do the mix for you right?

I have the paint code number (399), but was hoping to get it in the pre-mixed pen tube to touch up small nicks and rock chips. I just want to prevent rust from forming later on. Especially living in winters up here where they use salt to clear the roads. I'm sure they sell the regular standard colors at the parts counter, but when I asked for the individual color, he tried and didn't get any luck.

Think I read somewhere they don't offer individual colors at the dealership.

On amazon and google these came up

https://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_n...+atlantis+blue

These other two sites had my color, but it went based on the year of car? Maybe if you know another year its available? I know its individual so its any year but yea try all years or something, doesn't come up on 2017 bmw m4

Thanks for the link. I'm not sure how's the color match with the non BMW brand that's listed on the Amazon site.

Yea luckily amazon has the best return policy maybe try in the door jam or somewhere super hidden?

Even at ppg.com or houseofkolor.com no atlantis blue shows up, your paint sure is rare! lol

But home improvement shops have them, maybe order in a pen or something small and clear coat in the same size. If nothing else just improvise and test it first then try on your chips.

For the price they charge for individual, each car should come with a touch up kit.

I picked up BMW touch-up paint in Laguna Seca Blue from the dealer I purchased the vehicle from. They just needed the vin # to match. It was a special order item, but didn't cost any more than standard touch-up paint.

My SA tried and tried to order it for me and in the end he hit a brick wall.

Here is his email to me.

Hi Nick,

I have been in touch with multiple people in an attempt to get you the touch up paint. I am sorry to report that we have been told that it is unavailable anywhere in the world which I find hard to comprehend.

I recommend that you, the customer, contact BMW USA and express your displeasure to learn that it is unavailable. Depending on the response you receive from BMW, if it is unsatisfactory, I recommend you continue to go up the chain of command in an attempt to get a satisfactory result. I wish I could do more from my end, but I have hit a brick wall. By the way, the paint code is 399.

Please let me know what you learn from BMW.

Regards,

I have heard the same thing from a client with Atlantis Blue. He had the side markers painted by a local shop, but the color is still not a perfect match. He is taking it back to let them try again.

He had the same issue in getting any touch up paint. Saying that it cannot be bought. The Acid Orange on the GTS is the same way.
