What is the best suspension setting for driving on bad roads?
The ride will be less comfortable in sport mode but I figured the car won't lower as much so will stay higher off the ground and the body won't see as many rocks hit it?

Perhaps I phrased it bad, I meant if you're driving over bumps etc, depending on the setting either the entire car raises itself (sport mode) or the suspension takes it and the car doesn't ride over the bump as much (comfort mode) leaving the body lower to the ground in that instance?

I tend to swithch the EDC to Sport on really bad roads. I find that the suspension tends to crash more against the bump stops when in Comfort when hitting bad bumps in the road.

The only time I switch to anything above comfort is when I'm driving slow over bad roads. More jiggly in the car, but feels less like it's about to break something. And sometimes jiggly is good. |

FWIW - just ran across this in the manual under Things to remember when driving:
To drive down from curbs with the Adaptive M suspension select the following program to keep the ground clearance as even as possible: "Sport Plus". |

The reason for me getting an ///M is the dual capability as practical daily driver and weekend track toy. So comfort for the DD and Sport+ for the track it is for me. So right back at you, if you're not tracking your ///M, go buy a Lexus

Crashing is caused by not enough damping. If the road is so bad the car is crashing over it, put it in sport or sport+. If it's just a matter of abrupt body motion, jerk over uneven roads, or small to medium sized impacts, comfort usually rides better.
Where I used to live, Sport+ was actually more comfortable than the other modes, but where I live now, comfort mode is mandatory for most of my local driving. It all depends on the type of road surface.
