Door Ding from HELL
Ugh...so, had my 18 ZCP less then 6 weeks....stopped to meet a buddy at lunch and found a nice large corner spot in the parking lot.
Well, there was a car to my passenger side but there was a pretty big distance (given how small the lot was). Unfortunately, as I parked my car, the gentlemen who had the car next to me walked and opened his door to get in his car, a HUGE gust of wind came and literally slammed his door ALL THE WAY OPEN, in which it made major contact with my rear passenger door...I was still in my car and it sounded like someone crashed into it. So, needless to say, I am f@cking pissed...accidents happen...could have been worse I guess...but not much. Next week i'll head over to Enthusiast Auto Group to have my buddy's paintless dent repair guru take a look...fingers crossed that he can fix it with out body work and paint...their dent removal guy is the best in the area so I have some confidence all will be ok...as mineral white would be awful to match. Update 3/30/18: Ended up going with a long-time friend of mine that has been doing PDR for 20 years...he is always so busy I didn't want to bother him...but...he took care of it, wouldn't accept my money (I forcefully made him take it), and couldn't be happier with the results

Ouch that's painful, I also Always look for Corner spots far Away as well and it never fails, no matter how empty the parking lot is someone will always come and park next to me. Hopefully that gets fixed with PDR. good luck man

That should come out. At least be thankful it wasn't on the crease above. If it was, you're basically f*cked. Happened to my E90 and no one could get it out.

Been there. Sorry for your pain. I know exactly how it feels! Good luck with the repair. the insurance company still hasn't paid and it's been almost a year.

Ouch, I feel your pain.
While PDR will get that out and flatten the dent, the "texture" or "orange peel" of the paint won't be the same. Good thing is it's a lot less noticeable on white most people won't see it. I try to avoid driving my car on windy days because of this exact scenario, people don't realize when they open their doors they can become kites and swing wide open. Happened to me twice on my previous cars. |

Thanks for the input everyone, yeah, I am fortunate my buddy has been doing PDR for 17 years...so I will get it to him this week and get some after pictures.
Thankfully, the guy had insurance so if the PDR doesn't work, then I will end up going through insurance...but then it is the dilemma...fix it right, then repaint and have it not match, or live with a blemish...i'm betting i'd live with the blemish rather than than having mineral white paint not match. The guy texted me today and asked if I was doing OK, cause he's been sick to his stomach since yesterday...when he saw what he did he was speechless. It will all get sorted out. Keep ya'll posted on the outcome!

That being said, that is a text book pdr so all will be made right. Sounds like the person that did this is genuinely concerned, which is a rarity these days. Most people are jerks and drive off, etc. |

Looks great! My mountain bike fell over its wall mount in my garage and caused 2 large cluster dents (2-3 dents close together) in the fender and door of my F10 550i. The PDR guy meticulously took them all out for $150 although IIRC my insurance had reimbursed me $900 for fill and re-paint because they were positive it was the only option due to the locations of the dents.
The best PDR guys are miracle workers.
