took delivery of this beauty one wek before christmas, i was told by some that there only 15 of this spec in the country ... any one care to comment/varify

a bit similar to Estoril blue I might say, my wife had a 428i Convertible Estoril Blue, they look similar.

SMB is a weird complex color that changes - not like Estoril IMO. Like moonstone, AY, Ruby Red, tanzanite and others, pictures don't capture it.

It's actually nothing like Estoril, it is much darker, a bit more metallic and has purple undertones in some light. It's closest to a more metallic version of Interlagos Blue with some extra "pop".
