Cost of M Performance Exhaust Fitting

Just called Stratstone Leeds to book my M4 in for the M Performance Exhaust and carbon diffuser fitting for when my car is delivered in a few weeks (different dealer, got the parts from Cotswold BMW).

I was quoted £567 for the job.

This seems rather steep. I don't really have a lot of choice, but does this seem steep to everybody else?

I used to get a local grease monkey garage to swap my exhausts out Matt for £30 cash in hand after all it's just a bolt on, bolt off affair isn't it? The diffusor you can do yourself.

I'm well Jell!

Actually thinking about it Sandals in Wakefield fitted my Tubi to the that Silverstone e92 M3 for £50.

Garage List
I done my diffuser in about 10mins and exhaust cost me around £60 which was about an hour's labour at an independent.

I'm going away for a week on Wednesday so I'm having to wait a bit longer to pick it up now. It's still in Southampton. Thought it would be with me now. Provisionally collecting it on 10th April.

A colleague is currently on his way back from Kent via the Channel Tunnel after picking up a black M4 CP with the black 666M rims this morning. His was built a few days before mine, but he's ordered his in left hand drive and is taking advantage of the weak Pound. I'll see it in about 90 minutes. (I'll post the pics in a new thread).

I know what you're saying about the local grease monkeys. I went non-main dealer for the first time a few months ago when I had four new tyres fitted to the R8 at an independent, and they were better than I could possibly have expected and I saved £450. But I'm not sure about giving them my 20 hour old M4.

Anyway, I've just called BMW Sandal in Wakefield (had an exhaust fitted to my M135i a few years ago by them and was happy), and I'm now booked in with them.

Quote? £142 all-in.

Bit of a difference to £567 eh?

Excellent news, £567 was a silly amount of money.

Enjoy the car.
