2017 E9x & F8x Fall Meet And Cruise

WHAT IS THIS?
The first (sort of) annual mash-up of E9X and F8X M bros. It’s a meet and drive event.

WHEN IS IT?
Saturday, October 14, 2017 at 8:00 AM. Rain date on the 21.

WHERE IS IT?
Meet at the Chart House parking lot in Weehawken:
Lincoln Harbor Pier D-T, Weehawken, NJ 07086

Drive up to Bear Mountain Park via the Palisades Parkway:
Route 9W North, Bear Mountain, NY 10911

BACK STORY
In 2015, there was an E9X M3 meet up at this location organized by pointnshoot I believe. We met at Chart House, took pics with the NYC skyline in the background, the drove up the Palisades to Bear Mountain Park. This was rained out last year, and since I thought it was one of the best meets I’ve been to, I’m going to resurrect it.

Usually it’s just one platform that goes, but why not get the two most recent generations together, and try to make an even bigger event out of it. This should be peak Fall time, so leaves will be looking good.

Use this thread to let me know what kind of turn out to expect.

QUESTIONS:
I have a BMW, but not an M3, can I go?

Is there a caravan?
I live in Northwestern NJ, so if anyone wants to get one going, by all means, I’d love to join.

Why so early?
I like the Cars and Coffee time frame - people still have most of the day to enjoy.

Sounds like a nice event but you might wana roll out earlier, if you leave at 8 and get there by 9 (a lot of cars, a lot of coordination) you will be stuck behind minivans and bikers.

I just moved from rockland county and I don't remember it being so bad going up the parkway. Besides, I think being there at 8 might even be pushing it for some people

Cool! I was due for oil change today and they kept the car. How were the fall colors? I hope to go there next week?

Not bad but not peak yet. I think next week will be better. Hard to plan that part in advance!

Thanks. I went there today with the loaner. Too many people!!! Anyway, based on what I saw, I am not sure anymore. Either things are green, yellow or downright bald. I remember that last year, around the same time, we were near peak.
