Question Last month to order F80 M3 Individual?

Lease on my 2016 340ix MPPSK 6MT is up in January 2019. This order took 10 weeks from order to delivery (South Africa to NYC).

I'd like to order an F80 M3 6MT Competition in either Alpine White on Sakhir interior or San Marino Blue (if approved for Individual) on Silverstone interior.

EOP for the F80 is October 2018.

Would ordering in September or October be too late for an Individual order?

I'm reading F80 order to delivery is 3 months for non-Individual and 5 months for Individual. Is that still accurate?

These recent rumors of BMW declining San Marino Blue Individual orders better not be true...

Only a dealer with your order in hand can answer your question.

I think it varies a lot. I ordered my SMB M3 for ED in the last week of Jan and it is expected to finish production on March 26th. I was expecting a much longer timeframe so I guess the car will sit lonely for a few months since I'm picking up in early July. It took two weeks to get color approved.

I'm in the Bay Area but LA dealers know their stuff. I think you should order in April/May tor be safe.

September or October will definitely be too late. There will probably be no orders at all in October. The last round of allocations would be issued in September for October production slots and very well may be the last round.

I'd say you want to shoot for three months ahead. For SMB it should only take 1-2 weeks for approval and maybe add a 2-4 week scheduling delay for production.

If there's a CA you know you're going to work with, it might be worth having them reach out to their regional manager and/or BMWNA Individual specialist to see if they have an idea of when Individual orders will stop being accepted.

One thing to consider: the M3 CS Individual orders (frozen dark blue & lime rock grey) are supposedly happening right at the end of the production schedule in October, so there may be capacity issues for other non-CS Individual orders.

This is an EOP year so Individual orders processed last year or before cannot be counted on for delivery schedules. If you are not talking to a dealer now then you may be already late.

Talk to dealer and see if they have pull in program for your 340ix so you can order that individual M3 now.

It does.
I ordered my Tanz/SS February 16, went 112 February 22.
Two weeks ago Genius said blocked production week 4/9
This morning, the Genius said estimated end of Production 5/20
I am VERY FRUSTRATED!!!

Wow, I thought I had it pretty bad when my car went to production on 12/12 then halted for parts, until resume after new-year. Didn't finish until 1/9

Hope BMWFS/BMWNA would still honor any incentives yo may have.

I ordered mine in Jan with simple golden brown interior and that alone pushed it to a May production.

OP, I would definitely say try to get your order in within the next 60 days since allocations are drying up. I ordered an Indi F80 11/17 and took delivery 3/1; this was with a 2 week delay (holidays IIRC). I got the last allocation slot that my dealer had.

Ha ha ha!

I have a feeling the steel driveshafts may not make it into the M3.

Similar situation here. 340 lease up March of 19.

As far as I know there is no pull ahead program right now. I have had this same conversation with my CA.

So will they not be making a 2019 M3??? Is that why all orders have to be in by September?
