Indeed. My E92 was my favorite until I bought my Blackwing. Now that sits at the top with the E92 second. I will say the E92 was more fun to throw around sharp turns tho.

Non car related, but just got a Bernese Mountain Dog puppy. Even though I was ready for another puppy, you still kind of forget how much work they are!

Got back from my trip

All i can say is that the 'ring is worth the hype! Had a great time. We left St. Louis late Friday afternoon and landed in Frankfurt around 7:30am. Its a 8-9 hour flight. We hung out in the city to get food and coffee and walk around (parking is a bitch here, its understandable why there are so many tiny cars). Then loaded up the volvo xc60 and drove out to Nurburg. Once you get outside the city the rural areas are beautiful. especially when you get close to the ring. You'll pass though many tiny villages surrounded by smooth and twisty roads.

The Ring is automotive mecca. All you see is sports cars and tuned hatches. X5M's trailering M2s. Cayennes trailering GT3RSs. Even saw a KTM X-bow. There were tons of bikes in town for Motorrad Anlassen.

We slept at an airbnb. At 9am we went to rent4ring to get our bmw 125i. it was track prepped with some semi slick tires, 220hp and 2800 pounds. gutted and caged. short briefing explaining the track layout, how to let other cars by, what we are liable for, etc. I opted not to get any extra insurance because i know my limits and fair amount of experience with the track in sim racing. i knew where i could go quick and where i shouldn't. basic package covers 50% of the car value (12k euro) excluding any damage to the track and other ring services. the next package up cover 75% of the car.

it was a bit of a wait to get out. it had been raining and snowing a few days prior apparently so everyone staying there was itching to get out.

once out there it was a great time. the car was 'quick enough' to where i could push it and have some fun. similar power/weight as a toyota 86. hearing the very fast stuff like the 992 RS pass by was also fun. You do have to check the rear view often cars will fly up behind you. but people are respectful, you just put the blinker on and hug the right side and let them by.

some of my favorite parts of the track were fuchrohre/foxhole with its fast downhill section, compression, and then shooting you upward. And then the Karussell. Youtube corner/Brunnchen is also fun with all the bystanders watching.

After 4 laps we exited as we were on a time crunch and needed to get to Cologne for our flight out to Barcelona.

Also interesting to see the differences in modifications of the cars vs the USA.

The standard M2/M4 recipe here is just wheels, tyres, KW Clubsports, brake pads and Recaro Pole Positions. I find the unassuming, stock-looking cars without any aero kits to be usually the fastest out there.

I went to look at something random today with my uncle. Ineos Grendier.

After I saw the video from throttle house, I was curious. My uncle was too so we went. Surprising, Rusnak Pasadena had a dealer in place of formerly Jaguar.

It is definitely uh… unique. The B58 in the car is undertuned to 282 hp. I am certain all B58s are over 300 easy, why it is undertuned here is weird. Didn’t test drive it but the new dealer had a LOT of walk ins and 3 cars I can tell were sold already.

Interior was fun though. Definitely reminds me of a plane.

This is a possible replacement for my LR Disco (lemon lawyer retained). Reviews seem to be very positive.

When we were there, they had A LOT of walk-ins and I was surprised by that. I saw 2-3 of the cars sold already and the British Racing Green wannabe color is good. I legit choose that one.

Most of the cars there were low to mid 80s. I didn’t see any quality issues that TH video showed but it definitely felt weird seeing the BMW shifter there. It was out of place lol. They (CA) more or less repeated what us enthusiasts know and what TH video said. Almagamation of BMW, Range Rover Defender and a G-Wagon slammed into one.

I mean... do you want an annoying 4popper or B58? lol

Nothing against Toyota's engines but they aren't performance engines and they sound terrible.

Arcades I took a look at their inventory. Given the type of car it is, the fact that there is almost nothing in stock with a trailer hitch is absurd. I can't get around how hitches aren't standard on big SUVs - except the American brands.

Getting back on topic, if ya'll wanna see a butthurt crowd, check out the G87 change of color thread. Mentioned that the car is made in Mexico and thus wasn't for me and I might as well have started a blood feud.

I believe a lot of those options have to be installed after.

Even the stepping boards are installed afterwards.

The configurator shows it as a factory option. I made the mistake of showing mom this car (I bought the Disco for her) and now she can't stop talking about it. So, assuming I win the lemon case, I have a feeling this is what she'll want. My left brain says just order a reliable X5. She doesn't like those.

From what I can tell from the config and what I saw yesterday, most of the stuff under 04 on the Config, I saw under the "Mark-up" Section next to the window sticker.

I believe the car company did this because the things there can be added on and or removed very easily like lego or something. Most of the cars there had the Step-On Board things and it all show on the "Dealership Markup" tab next to the window sticker. I did also ask about which banks support them so far as I doubt Ineous has their own fiance bank, which was confirmed. Currently only BoA and Well's Fargo (lol) support them. A few recalls is listed on the forums but nothing too big from what I see. Personally, I will always avoid 1st year car, especially coming from a brand that has no real experience with cars yet. This is basically like Tesla but they don't have a pos person for a CEO (that we know of).

Did I miss a post about the lemon thing? What happened?

I got sick of all the dealer trips and figured out it had been there like 65 odd days during warranty. Lawyers took care. Doubt they’d take something they didn’t think was a win.
