F80 M3 possibly different face?

Hi guys, just by watching these videos and photos, it makes me wonder why they have to cover that part where the headlight is supposed to connect to the kidney-grills. Are they trying to hide some difference like maybe it's not connected in the M3?

Garage List
It's nothing new, they do this with all test models. It's to hide the details but doesn't mean it's hiding a different fascia or anything.

The E90 M3 got the E92 front end, it wouldn't surprise me if the F80 got the F32/F82 front end. It would surprise me if they didn't have similar, open kidneys to the F30 though, I think this will be a design theme going forward, and they won't step back to the old E9x design.

So you think the upcoming models will all be like this including the 1,5 and 7 series?

For a while, I had assumed that BMW would follow the same pattern they employed with the E46M and E9XM for the upcoming F8X, but Scott has been hinting strongly lately the F80 and F82 will have much more visual separation than the E90 and E92 did. While this doesn't necessarily mean that the F30 fascia will look markedly different than the F80's, it's certainly not outside the realm of possibility, especially if BMW really is interested in making each model stand out on its own.

No this time, 3 Series and 4 Series will be as different as 5 Series and 6 Series. So M3 and M4 will also be different. It would not make sense if the M5 had M6 face, no?

The E90 M3 used the E92 M3 front section because of the relation to the more compact suspension in the Coupe , presented packaging problems within the E90, which would have added more weight to the front of the E90.
Because the F30 front end is more lower in profile this eliminates the problem but The F80 M3 will still be a 3er Sedan.

Still, the F80 M3 apparently got different front grilles, as seen in our F80 spyshots gallery.

Is it just me or do the kidneys appear to be in more of a V shape? It could be the angle though.

That was the unwritten point that Southlight was trying to make, yes.

But I think many is an point of the camera angle ... look at the pic what I posted ... there is much less difference ... could be cammo and īthe F80 grill vs the F30 grill is like 6er vs M6.
