When the vehicle is fully restored to stock software (meaning the OBD flashing patch is removed), the tamper faults should no longer exist after being cleared. The tamper faults are normally there when you have a patched bootloader but the tune itself does not mask the fault codes. Since full OBD flashing is now available, it's not a problem reverting the flash back to 100% stock as you can simply reflash it, and with the complete stock file there should not be any tamper faults. To put this in perspective in terms of time- you can flash the calibration itself back to stock in 2 minutes which will leave a tamper fault - or you can flash the complete ECU back in roughly 8 minutes.

The other thread on this is here:
BMW Fxx OBD Flashing for End Users - Official Release - Available NOW! http://f10.m5post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1447223

Am waiting for the moderators to restore the thread we posted here - it was removed because we were not sponsors in this section - I totally forgot it was separate from M3post.
This is certainly going to change the whole game, thank you for contributing to the community!

Halim@HCP seems to also have announced releasing this. I assume proTUNING Freaks will as well soon.

It's interesting how there are several tuning companies coming out with this at the exact same time. Not one will have this exclusively for any period of time (which if they developed it would have given them a huge competitive advantage), not one is selling it earlier and all of the companies offering this at the EXACT SAME TIME only provide packaged tunes. It's a curious scenario to say the least.

Here's an interesting read for you. According to Halim someone had access to BMW "developer" bootloaders (which once loaded on a DME would allow OBDII flashing) and decided to sell them out. So if that's true, no one technically figured anything out on how to unlock the DME

This is getting interesting each day, so it was a 'inside job' sell out. Has anyone seen any official pricing for the connection/cable expect from MagicMotorSports?

Even if that person did it for personal financial gain, I consider them a saint!

Chiptunningshop over in the UK is £ 1700 with £ 35 shipping to the US, no VAT. It's the MAGPro2 BMW Fxx OBD Flasher, but it looks like a fancy ENET cable. Price is good until 12/23/17. This whole OBDII is like a murder mystery novel. I would purchase this cable, but don't want to purchasing a $20 ENET cable. Would like more info. There are tunners over in the EU that will mod the ECU file and e-mail back. I'm sure I could ask for my tune file. So many questions as I'm fairly new to flash tunes, but this has my interest since I wasn't going to tune my future F85 due to drilling the ECU as its leased.

Not that I am interested but I read a bit and the prices are already on some of the vendors sites. Also end user solutions exist as of yesterday w very reasonable stage 1 prices.

I'm with you man. A lot of unanswered questions at this point. I didn't wanna drill the ECU either because of leasing but I'm all in on this if it's real :

Who has posted prices? It's confusing with all the different threads now, including individual vendor anouncements.

I told Ibizaswife last night about this news that plans have changed for the F85 and now I'll probably do a stage I tune, her reaction "cool!"

I'm going to contact Magic for more info. I could always 'rent' out their cable when not in use.

Check BPM sport, they already have their new price for this posted up with the cable included and they are currently selling for cheaper than they used to (at least for the F8x cars)

Our current pricing is in our website.
It has been since before the announcement.

We will be offering an incentive for the first 100 customers,
but as we said in a previous post, will be releasing turtorial
videos and reviews of the process from independent users
first, before adding it to the shopping cart.

Due to all the various postings from multiple sources, we will
be demonstrating the new functionality through live streaming
this coming week, and then we will update our website with all
of the video content.

I'm sure PTF has something in the works... This looks to be something that all the tuning platforms had in their pocket until they were ready.

I find it difficult to believe that the BM3 platform is still at square one looking at these releases going "well, geee-whizzz.. I dunno".
