+1 I was quoted $250 by a BMW mechanic who does work on the side. It seemed a little high. The instructions here are awesome I'm going to give it a try this weekend.

I got a color matched one from a seller here on the forum. I had no idea what parts he was going to send me. Turns out he didn't include the hardware and left out the support bracket. I've had no luck finding a replacement sold separate from the whole lip. Because of all this... I had a body shop do this install for me and the lip has held on well. Still wish I had the support bracket for my piece of mind/OCD.

Yep plus the one securing bolt through the splitter/splash guard as described on the post below yours, I bought the adhesive kit but that looked a right faff so we used 3M tape.

I don't believe there is anyone to reuse a plastic or for that matter any rivet. Once used you are done. Need to cut them out and replace them. Part number is Blind plastic 6mm rivet part #: 51777171004

As expected, the outer matte black cover of my lip (F in the parts diagram below) is getting scraped quite a bit. At some point I'll probably replace it since they're so cheap (even if I have to buy the whole kit for $400 at ECS!), but for now I might just do a quick paint touch up... any recommendations for what sort of matte black paint would work best? (the material is some sort of PU I think?)
On another issue - the two center hex screws (H) that hold the inner lip (G) to the metal reinforcement bracket (C) appear to have pulled out and stripped the threads from the holes. Has this happened to anyone else? How would you go about fixing this other than replacing the bracket? |

BTW - I received an aftermarket spoiler with minimal hardware. I found the following page which gives the BMW part #'s for most of the kit.
https://www.parts.bmwgroup.com/infod...0339%20227.pdf The list starts on page 6 <Parts list for front peripheries> Using Google, I was able to find the vast majority on ECS Tunings site. I ordered a few spares, but the total was around $50. |

Installed lip and splitters this weekend using these instructions. Massive help, thanks.
Just one question regarding the plastic plates labelled L in the BMW Instructions. I am not convinced I have installed these correctly since they look so out of character to the rest of the installation . Thoughts? PS Hadn't finished with the plastic rivets when I took this photo. |

If you look at step 8 in the BMW directions, first page of this post if you don't have them handy, you will see that you have to combine material from bag M and L. This piece is what the sheet metal screws go into. As they do that, the brackets turn towards the fender to secure screws in place. You have it on the outside of the lip. The picture, although not very good, is showing what is going on between the lip and the bumper. Remove them from the bottom of you spoiler and place them between the bumper and chin spoiler.
Hope that makes sense! Quote:
