Question for those that have installed the BMS clutch stop. How many washers did you guys use? I removed one, and seem to be ok with the clutch travel. Wondering if anyone preferred the feel of using all the washers, vs 1 removed etc

Thanks!

Why don't you try posting elsewhere? Like the 'for sale/lease takeover' page?
I did. Went nowhere.
The reason I posted here was two-fold. One of them was for those uncertain to know that pple with dilemma who picked the auto vs MT now want MT.

BMS Clutchstop works great - BUT....Install a "UCP Pedal" and it's AMAZEBALLS. Next to my AWE exhaust, best mod I did on the car.

Interested in the clutch stop, and was searching through the Burger Tuning site. Is this install guide relevant for the M3/M4?

http://www.burgertuning.com/instruct...lutch_stop.pdf

I don't own a torx screwdriver, wasn't sure if it was necessary.

Thanks in advance!

No tools required. Have to reach up between the rubber slits where the clutch pedal arm is. Feel for that puny OEM stop, yank it out, insert new one. Voila, done!

Check out this link:

Best of luck!

All the washers for me, since install. Haven't had any issues whatsoever.

I definitely recommend a clutch stop though which will lower the engagement point and allows for a much smoother takeoff and shift IMO.

Did you do clutchstop first? Then the ucp pedal? I've seen many threads about the pedal, it's definitely piqued my interest!

Do you have a thud sound when going from 1st to second skmetimes? It doesn't do it always but I hear it and feel it in my hand when shifting. It makes 1 to 2 clunky sometimes especially if I'm not super aggressive driving. Some guys say that's it's normal, others say they never feel anything at all.

Lee, I do feel or hear a hollow thud, usually from 1st to 2nd. Seems like it's normal, based on what I have read in other threads?

From research and trying to put two and two together on the forums, it sounded like normal ops too. I just never asked the question directly so I figured I would.

And this is the first time I've driven a BMW manual. I currently have a STI that I daily, and the clutch is a bit stiff, and consistent from bottom to top.

I noticed that the F82 clutch is a bit light, and almost 'springs back' at you from the bottom to a point where I think it engages? It's taking some time getting used to. It actually caught me off guard that I stalled it prior to leaving dealer haha

My question is, this clutch feel is normal, right? For those that owned a BMW manual for first time, or have had to get used to this type of clutch, how was the learning curve/adjustment period for you? Hoping to see what owner experiences have been like. I'm getting used to it, and I think I'm starting to understand and get a feel of where it engages. But feathering it to maneuver into a tight space, still a bit tricky haha

Thanks guys!
Just bought a 6MT 18MY 2 days ago and love it... traded a 15M4DCT. Great call...rambling...Clutch feel, nearly identical to my previous PREVIOUS 335i. Felt like home again, currently hating this BS break in period though... car feels dead as I can't open it up. Gonna go watch The Office now

The clutch is lighter than my 07 e92 335i was. One of the first things I noticed.
