The first rendering with the long side vent/heat extractors looks AWESOME!!!

SIGN ME UP

The second rendering with the 4 series "boomerang" / "Pep Boys" vent look just as crapy on the M4 as the 4 series.

Thank you for the renditions!!

Great work. You're very talented. I like the elongated vent on the first render, and think it would look even better with the shadowline trim. Thanks very much for the visualization.

It's an exciting time to be an M enthusiast. Since we knew the M4 was gonna look good - it comes down to performance. If the new M4 can raise the performance bar then I think the M4 will be a great car.
Totally agree! And I think the modern M has always been pretty amazing with performance! One big concern is their over engineering-ness. Lets hope the steering will be as lively as the e9x. If they can pull off a good steering, M will definitely maintain their crown in the business!! They should just copy Porsches steering! : )

+1

Very curious since bmw has begun to separate the 3 and 4 quite a great deal with exterior styling..

I imagine the trend will continue with the M coupe and sedan sharing front ends, but not rears.

I only buy M3s. If BMW doesn't want to sell me the proper, coupe version, of the m3 I will have to do one myself. Call me romantic I don't like the look, sound or anything else about the m4 name. "My m4?... I have a m4..." Nope, not for me.

They would really do themselves a favor if they kept the mirrors and door handles - it would be a statement thrown to Audi and MB that they're not fooling around. Plus it looks amazing.

Now of only BMW looked at the renderings and do something similar to please the public. Instead of removing what everyone likes and keeping what was meh

As for the M4 performance, I DARE BMW to put a 500 hp engine in it. It doesn't even have to be a V8. It can be a TT V6 like the one in the GTR or Porsche Turbo.

As long as it have enough power to support its look, it Will be the best car ever made. period!
It has already been confirmed that its a TT Inline 6 with a small bump in HP and about 100 extra lb/ft of torque over the E9X M3.

Still struggling with side vent/autozone boomerang side thingy.

A bit too big, M3 coupe was the sweet spot. Will there be an M2?

I think the rear fender needs to be more aggressive.

Looks great, even though I'd prefer brighter rims (and maybe a little bit less filigree). Wonder how it would look with the m220 and m359 rims.

I wouldn't think so. I see that being reserved for the M4 Gran Coupe.

It's already been confirmed? I would not use the term confirmed yet. Far from it...
