I have also driven the Pan and I think the interiors of these two cars are a push. Believe me the Tesla drives MUCH MUCH better. It's an absolute no brainer to get Model S vs Pan after driving both...

The high end Pans are better vehicles, but only with them optioned well with Porsche's performance packages. But they are also significantly more expensive.

Don't know if you have test driven it... but if not, go do it... or maybe not... to avoid regret...
I don't think I'd buy either one for myself, but believe the Porsche interior and fit/finish will be superior to Tesla. Also if one doesn't want to deal with charging time and / or drives long distances at speeds above 55 MPH such that range is a factor, it sorta takes Tesla out of the equation.
I've driven many different Panameras and I have also driven the Tesla P85 (non-d). They're both great cars. I move around a lot so not I wanna have to worry about installing the charger and also I may be driving cross country in the not so distant future and don't want to worry about running out of power. The Tesla is amazing and fun but I really love the Porsche. I also needed something now and new Teslas need to be ordered and this was on the lot. Anyone who says one is better then the other is crazy they're both great and offer similar HP and handling if you get the right models, just depends which you prefer.

Makes sense. Both great cars and it's a matter of personal choice.

Glad you are enjoying the new car.

Please keep in mind this is applies to internal combustion engines too.... Faster you the the less MPG you get.

Btw 8% isn't to bad.

Pics of the new car?

Congrats.

Given the car he moved to, I assume he felt the M4 convertible was too loud and uncomfortable. Also, since car is so heavy, it's actually not that quick, nor handles very well... so you get the worst of both worlds, meaning not quick and at the same time loud and uncomfortable.

So therefore he moved to something that is quieter and more comfortable, while still handles pretty well.

Hmm...0-60 in 4.1 and the 1/4 in 12.4@113 for the M4 cab is no slouch. And 0.94 on the skid pad is pretty good, too. It's definitely a lot faster than the 310 hp Panamera 4. This was a decision to have a luxury cruiser, which is fine, but they are very far apart.

Interesting. I understand for auto/dct why launch is significantly faster than 5-60. Why is manual 0-60 4.1 vs 5-60 4.8?

Great info tho, I hadn't looked into the cab's numbers before. It appears that it performs really well even with the significant added weight. Kudos to BMW engineering.

Looks like you're describing the RS6/7 to me !

RS7 is faster than just about anything save for the super cars ... and has all the creature comforts you desire ...

"Launch control" for manuals has been around long before dual clutch transmissions were even thought of. It's called dropping the clutch and squeezing onto the power.
