M4 or a Camaro Z/28?! Same price!
http://www.autoweek.com/article/2014...NEWS/140109975
Holy expensive! I honestly can't imagine spending $80k on a Camaro!

Price seems good for a factory race car - especially one that is actually streetable. M3 GT4 was well over 100k, used stock S65 engine, and was not legal on public roads.

Wow with the price! I did see the the z/28 video run in the ring and was certainly very impressive. However the interior does not reflect a 75K car and basically a street legal track car. Two different markets in my opinion for this car and no way I would ever consider spending this much for a Camaro. Depreciation should be a beast with this one!

Guys, different strokes for different folks, no need to diss!
Same arguement can be had for the GTR, all plastic interior for $100k+ is ridiculous in my book but many will pay. I love all cars and appreciate them though I probably won't write the check.

The ZL1, as noted in the article, is $20k cheaper and has more power and more features. This is a ready to roll track car that happens to be street legal. |

totally agreed. I'm glad that GM is making this car, even if nobody on this forum ends up buying one. makes me feel a little better (or less uneasy) about the direction cars are moving.

Fair price, considering this will pounce a C63 AMG 507 in the handling department, has components durable enough for sustained track use, all backed by a warranty, I wouldn't for a second say it is overpriced. You get CC brakes, sticky tires, Magnetic shocks, bulletproof diff, 427, and aero! No other street legal car at that price point can lap the ring at 7:37 other than Caterhams and Ariel Atoms.

Thanks for correction. I should have said bespoke coilovers. But yes indeed a fair price.

It would be great to see BMW do a car like this. It makes the 2 series M look like a joke.

The Z28 is such a famous model over the decades, so I am very happy to see it come back. I would never buy one for anything other than a track only car, so for me it is an easy decision to make. M3/M4 all the way.

If the value behind this thing is purely as a track toy, then I'll take an Ariel Atom. Those start at under 60 grand USD, and--while there is a waiting list for new ones--they can be found for even less used. |

I've owned a few Chevy's, but I'd personally take the LS7 in a Vette's body (coupe/convertible) even if the camaro is quicker in factory form

Now what's going to happen when GM unveils the C7 Z06 in a week? With a supercharged 6.2 liter V8, 3300 lbs, and 625 HP? Will we see "M4 vs C7 Z06" threads? Pat |
