What did you learn or discover about your M3/M4 today?

Wife had a minor operation yesterday so I am on kid duty.

Today I learned my kids would much rather me take them to school in "daddy's fast red car" than "moms boring gray car".

during cold start in "sport" throttle mode, the stock exhaust will set off car alarms (i.e. I did my part to perpetuate the 3 series drivers are dbags stereotype...)

My manual is in the house stored in my bedside table. Since all relevant info can be found in the e-manual in iDrive anyway, why bother carrying that extra weight around

drive the car like a grandma for a few km's and the second you decide to give it the beans, the exhaust (I have dp's) crackles and pops like it's the 4th of July .... what a motivation to drive slow (only for a bit)

...that 4th gear tops out at 147mph, and there are services under BMW Online that I didn't know about it (i.e Yelp, email location, etc.)...

That the climate control is even worse than what people warned me to expect.
One minute it's sweltering hot and blowing even hotter, seconds later the A/C goes on even though it's actually cold outside.
Just plain nuts.

Not sure of the details, but you must have BMW apps.

That I need to read the manual more to understand all the nav features. Still not sure I fully understand "interactive map".

Um yeah, me too. Seen it listed but never used it, that and a lot of these features. Thought I would just pick it up as I went along, but it's not so intuitive for instance like NAV stuff in most others cars, eg my wife's 2013 KIA Sportsge is a breeze. BMW we need manuals!

connect the phone via Bluetooth and it they will be in the office menu if you have the enhanced Bluetooth option

Traffic accident warning: I'm headed to run errands, so I get in the turn lane to get on the freeway. Navigation guidance is NOT active. A warning comes up on the screen, warning me of a major accident on the freeway that I'm about to take. I strain my neck to see traffic, and sure enough, completely jammed. I get out of the turn lane and take the streets instead. This was AWESOME.

Weird one: I'm playing music off of an iPhone connected by USB, but I also have Bluetooth turned on on the phone. I park the car, press start/stop twice to turn the car off, and disconnect the phone. No sound. As I'm climbing out of the car, the bluetooth connection kicks in and the music starts playing again. I have to press the start/stop button again to make the sound stop. It's like the car wants to keep jamming.

Apparently there's a little compartment for storage under the headlight settings on the left side. Have had the car a month and a half had no idea lol
