I gotta wait. There's really no point for me in buying a new car then have it sit in my garage for 8 months while I'm off on deployment. It'll be my post-deployment (hopefully last deployment) gift to myself.

Mine will sit for roughly four months or so.

My wife will probably drive it... not really concerned with her driving it as I've thought her about parking, etc. I'm hoping that this will be my last stint overseas, which it should be unless something crazy happens...

Actually leaning towards ordering this Jan/Dec like originally planned because I will be acquiring a bit of cash to put on top of my original down payment.

I guess it will make me feel better about those extra boxes I ticked.

I wish I had time to wait like you. I'm only in Europe till November so I needed to order now. But waiting for a build date is getting restless. I think all those European delivery guys next month are snatching up all the spots that would be military sales slots.

You mean as in be built in the year 2015 or the year of the car? All the ones being built now are model year 2015.

I'd imagine it would still be one of the last 2015 before they switch. We've been talking about it so long I just realized that it is almost June.

Part of me wants to order ASAP. Meaning July-August order, Xmas pickup.


The better choice is to wait until Xmas, acquire more funds and pick it up once I get back. I don't mind putting up more cash up on a car of this nature due to the likelihood that I will keep it. This car checks every single box- there aren't many that do. The ones that have are way out of my price range.


Edit: I still can't even figure out a color.

I'm thinking AW or MW, YMB, or MG. Pure agony. Part of me is in love with YMB.

I ordered mine back in early March with PCS having put down the 10% downpayment in June 2013. I haven't hear anything on my ViN, was told to be looking for it end of this month for a June production. Hopefully it will get stateside by early July.

BTW, my credit union is currently confused. They ask for me to have insurance on the car before they make the payment, and USAA cannot insure it since the car model is not available in any of their databases.

Guess you must not be dealing with a bank that finances a lot of military like usaa navy federal or pentagon federal. Most of those guys and the big banked know how it is when ordering a car and that even once it's paid for you won't have it for a little bit. But wow really usaa dosent have this new model in their database yet? It should find it with the vin. That's nuts. Well hopefully they have that sorted out by the time I get my car. I just received notification of a scheduled build date today for the 3rd week in June.

Yeah. I am using the Air Force FCU. Nobody could beat their rate of 1.49% for 72 months, and they are pretty small - hence the weird questions.

USAA can insure it. I was on the phone with them yesterday and got a quote and had the ability to add it to my policy. Try again with someone new at USAA.
