Did you recently order Individual SMB?

Anyone else waiting on a SMB individual? I hear that group them together to paint. True?

If that's what BMWNA and/or BMW Individual told you then it's probably true, if you heard it from some internet douche then it's probably not.

Also, FYI, group painting SMB is totally true.

I've heard similar from my CA. From an operations management perspective it makes sense. Not sure about the actual mechanics of it.

I would take an educated guess that SMB is popular enough at this point, they get enough of them during a production month that they just group them and do it that way. Instead of the fewer individual colors they do it independently.

Then again I'm just totally guessing.

Did you get an idea of lead time ? My dealer told me that there's a worldwide restriction on individual colours which is extending the usual +10 weeks for Individual paint to 3+ months. I ordered a Tanzanite blue car in early June this year with an initial delivery date of mid August. It's now due for delivery in week 50.

Now listed as in production with a completion date of the Friday. Hopefully she’ll be here by year end.

I’ve ordered a M4 SMB on the 13th of October and I received an estimated delivery date of May 2018. From what I heard from my contact I understood there won’t be done any special colour requests in December and January.

One month in waiting...

I ordered SMB M4 on 1st Sept. Car was built 1st week in Dec. Car is in UK awaiting delivery early next week. Should have in time for Xmas. So 3 month wait on build if that helps you gauge time...

Awesome! My car has a production week of Week 4. Hope to get it sometime late Feb or early Mar.

Just heard from my dealer the car went to status 105. Estimated production is set for March according to the data from the factory, but no production date set.

Factory in Munich, where the M4 is produced, will be closed in week 52, 1, 2 and 3.

I ordered my Tanz Blue M4 in early June and took delivery 9/16, although I was told there was a chance of November delivery. Wonder what happened to yours. Wonder if they didn't really have an allocation spot or they pushed you back for someone else.
