Yeah , it can be coded in the LEDs. No extra lights required, the 2015-2017s have the Fog Lights in the rear/front it just has to be coded in and a button installed. Why the US market doesn't get it standard, I have no idea. It looks like BMW has corrected this

As covered before, it is not required until May 2018. Furthermore, they didn't have to increase the base price only $200 when they added it. That's no more than the incremental price increases that occur every couple years anyway with no added content.

Looks like leather is no longer free with Exec Package.

And we can all agree that this sort of option set up will NOT apply to non M cars.

Those will continue to be a mess.

Great to see blind spot monitoring can be ordered by itself but at 70k, it's not standard like in my 25k mazda 3 lol

Awesome find.

Looks like the only way to get the newly designed LED headlights is by ticking the box for Executive Package - which forces you to get PDC. I guess $2,850 isn't too bad but I'm thinking I could use that money towards the MPE lol

Wow, MY2018 looks like a pretty solid deal. I'll save about $3,500 by being able to get exactly what I want. The Executive Package is a steal.

I just noticed something about these new guides.

Both 496 Heated rear seats and 502 Retractable headlight washers are no longer part of the Executive Package as they had been previously. However, they are not offered as standalone options either, nor are they included in the standard equipment list.

I strongly doubt they are no longer available, so they were probably omitted in error. The question is then, were these omitted from standard equipment list, omitted from the Executive Package equipment list, omitted form the standalone options list, or is there a new "Cold Weather Package" that was omitted completely?

The heated steering wheel option is standalone now. Do you think they legitimately got rid of it due to demand or customer feedback that people just don't want them?

This is just annoying. I want to order an M3- not an M4.

Not sure on the washers, but has the M4 ever had heated rear seats? I think that was an M3 only thing.

m4 never had heated rear seats. my 15 did have headlamp washers as part of the exec pkg, but i never used them. i suspect bmw decontented them totally from the exec pkg and from the individual options list as - if everyone else is like me - they were never once activated.

You're right - I had forgotten that the heated rear seats were 3/M3 only (not available for 4/M4).

Headlight washers are much further down on everyone's priority list I'm sure. Still strange to see them missing if indeed they are no longer offered since they've been a BMW staple (love 'em or hate 'em) for decades. I'll have to check out the MY2018 4 Series Order Guide when I get a chance to see if they are available on those cars.

Yeah, I don't see myself ever using the headlamp washers either.

I love it! It was probably for people like me who really wanted a heated steering wheel but nothing else on the exec pkg. I'm so pumped to be able to just pay the $190 for it.

Now they just have to offer new standard colors (red or blue) in time for my order a year from now.

Thanks (to both you and the other poster) who corrected my incorrect assumption that they had to do this now, rather than by may of 2018.

With that being said, I still have a bit of a chip on my shoulder for BMW not just including the backup camera and I know I am not the only one.

The new 2015 Hyundai Elantra I bought my 22 year old son (in 2015), had an MSRP of around 20k and came with a backup camera standard (as in "incl.").

I simply dont understand why BMW feels they need to charge for this, AND has waited until now to do so. I also dont understand why we should be happy that they "only" increased the price $200, but then now we are getting into differences of opinion, which is totally fine.

We just see that $200 differently, and as I mentioned just now thats completely ok.

Because the Elantra doesn't have M-designed axels, forged wheels, and all the other sports-designed shit that cost big money.

Here, read this and see how it sounds: "I simply don't understand why Rolex feels the need to charge me extra for the steel band on my Submariner when the Fossil I bought at Walgreens has it included?!?!"

So here's what you now understand: things that are similar are not the same.

This thread hasn't been placed in the sticky section. Can anyone confirm that this is a true price guide and order guide for 2018 M4?

I'm not sure why a thread being stickied would make it any more or less true. Plenty of the stickied threads are written by "regular" folk.

These documents are the 2018 ordering/pricing guides.

Questions.

A couple of clarification questions.

1. Will the LED angel eye updates (shown in the image above) come standard or do you need to order ZPX (Executive Package) to get them?
2. Also, since LED headlights are standard, will adaptive just be a coding option?

The executive package seems like bargain now.

1. Those are the optional adaptive LED
2. Extremely doubtful, in the same way that it is very unlikely you could code adaptive features to the pre-LCI standard light. While the new standard headlight is LED rather than the outgoing Xenon one, the lighting type itself has nothing to do with the adaptive abilities of the light. Rather it is based on the electronics and mechanics of the lighting cluster itself.

For more details, see the this sticky thread in the general forum, starting at post 393:

http://f80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho...2#post21200212

Please continue any further discussion of the topic there.

Actually I am mostly on the same page as you. However, the point I was making is that on the larger scale of BMW pricing and equipment matters this is actually very benign. The bigger issue to me in past years wasn't the fact that the camera wasn't standard equipment, it was the fact that the only way you could get it was via a $3700 package.
